Dear Fuller Families and Students,

As we gear up for the upcoming week, there are some exciting events and important reminders to share with you all.

Firstly, please note that Monday, April 1st, will be a make-up day due to not missing school for bad weather. There will be no school for both students and staff.

On a lighter note, we have some special birthdays to celebrate this week! Let's wish a very happy birthday to Mrs. Gibbs on Tuesday and Mrs. Jones on Wednesday! Don't forget to share your warm wishes when you see them.

Our 4th and 5th grade Leadership Team is doing a Aubrey T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Drive. Please bring an shirts you have in good condition that you would like to donate. You can turn them in to your homeroom teacher.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 4th, as we host our inaugural Fuller Family Culture Night! Join us for a journey around the world as we celebrate the diverse cultures within our school community.

On Friday, April 5th, we have a special treat for our 1st and 2nd graders. Mrs. Jackie Fuller's granddaughter will be visiting to share her enchanting book, "The Butterfly Tree." Details on purchasing options can be found in the flyer below.

In observance of Autism Awareness Month, let's show our support by wearing blue on Wednesday. This color symbolizes calmness and solidarity with our Fuller Family members who are students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for the PTO Carnival on April 12th, 2024, from 5-8PM! Get ready for an evening of fun with bounce houses, obstacle courses, food trucks, and more. See below for details on wristband presales and ticket distribution.

Let's make the upcoming week one to remember! As always, thank you for your continued support and involvement in our Fuller Elementary community.

Remember, We are Fuller, We are Family!

Hello Parents,

I want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.

If your family has not participated, there's still time!

This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.

Please help now. It really will make a difference.

Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000369738 to show our valued teachers your support.

Thanks

District Policy on Student Illness

Parents, if your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, please keep your student home until symptom free 24 hours without the use of medications. This will greatly reduce the spread of illness, and help us keep our Students, Faculty and Staff Healthy. Per our student handbook:

Illness (All Grade Levels)

"When your child is ill, please contact the school to let us know he or she will not be attending that day. State rules require schools to exclude students with certain illnesses from school for certain periods of time. For example, if a child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medications. Students with diarrheal illnesses must stay home until they are diarrhea-free without use of diarrhea-suppressing medications for 24 hours (p. 69)."

If your student is sent home from school due to illness they will need to be symptom free 24 hours prior to returning unless cleared by a healthcare provider and note provided. If your student is sent to school before 24 hours without a doctor's note, you will be called by the nurse to come pick up your student. If your student is to be out longer than 24 hours, please provide a parent or doctor's note and e-mail: sharrison@aubreyisd.net.

If your student is due or has had recent immunizations please e-mail them to Nurse Perlick at tperlick@aubreyisd.net so that she can keep your students records updated. If your student is behind on immunizations they will not be able to attend class and you will have to come pick up your student. These will also not be excused absences. Thank you for your help.

ATTENDANCE ATTENDANCE

Here at Fuller, our campus wide attendance goal is 96%.

During the first nine weeks of school, five grade levels met or exceeded the campus' attendance goal.

Here at Fuller, we will continue to recognize attendance, engage students and families, monitor attendance data, provide early outreach and respond to barriers of attendance.

Families, please remember a habit of attendance is a school readiness skill. If your child is going to be absent, please notify your child's classroom teacher and our campus registrar sharrison@aubreyisd.net.

PARENT/DOCTORS NOTES- Please be sure you emails regarding absences to sharrison@aubreyisd.net. You may also drop a hard copy of a parent or doctor's note in the front office. Parents, please email notes to Mrs. Harrison as well so that she can document absences as they occur. Once we come back from break, we will not be able to access semester 1 to adjust attendance. Thank you.

Arrival and Dismissal Arrival and Dismissal

*** Bikers must walk their bikes across crosswalks and on school property ***

According to Texas law crosswalks are for pedestrians and not cyclist. Therefore, students MUST walk their bicycles across all crosswalks.

We also ask that bike riders walk their bikes when on campus for safety of all.

Thank you for your attention to this.

Dismissal Issue

There is an issue on Quicksilver at the 3rd-5th grade car line exit. Vehicles are parking too close to the intersection which puts our Students and Crossing Guards in an unsafe environment.

When the cars park in the red marked areas, vehicles exiting the car line cannot exit safely without coming out in the street. So to prevent any accidents, I will be placing 6 cones in the area. I have suggested to parents who parked there, to pull up to the school zone sign and park there.

I have included a map of the location with "NO PARKING IN RED AREAS" on the map.

Attendance

Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.

A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.

In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
