As August rolls in, the Library is ready with a new month of programs!
The beautiful planter our front of the Library is taking off! It is continuing to grow taller each day.
This week, we're welcoming the Dutchess County Comptroller, who will be reporting and answering questions on the county's finances. We'll also be welcoming the C.A.R.E.S. Van from Congressman Pat Ryan's office, if you need any help with federal benefits, passports, and more. We'll have Glass Painting on Wednesday for adults and Library Tea Society on Saturday.
When visiting the Amenia Farmer's Market on Friday afternoon, from 3 - 6pm, stop by and say hi! We'll have a table with more information about our programs.
Lastly, during the hot days of summer, the Library is a Cooling Center during our open hours! Feel free to come in and cool down 🥶
Story Hour with Megan!
Join us for Story Hour at 10:30am on Mondays and Thursdays!
We read a book, make a craft, and have a snack.
For children 5 years old and younger, with a caregiver.
Knitty Gritty Yarn Club
Join us on Mondays at 1:30pm for our Knitty Gritty Yarn Club!
This is a time for our yarn-loving patrons to work on projects and socialize.
Rail Trail Nature Walk
Join us on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month, at 10:30am, for a library-led nature walk on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
We'll be meeting at the Rail Trail Parking Lot on Mechanic Street in Amenia.
All ages welcome.
Comptroller’s Town Hall with Dan Aymar-Blair
Dutchess Comptroller Dan Aymar-Blair will give an overview of the Comptroller’s office, walk through the county’s budget, and share the findings of Comptroller’s most recent reports. Bring your questions for the Q&A period!
The Comptroller will also be joined by a representative from the Office of the New York State Comptroller to assist attendees with the search for any unclaimed funds.
Glass Painting
Join us on Wednesday, August 6th, at 5:00pm, as we make our own unique glass painting!
We'll have all the supplies ready to go.

Chair Exercise
Join us on Thursdays at 11:30am, for Chair Exercise!
Kickstart your day, stay active, and have fun in a supportive environment!
Make sure to wear comfy clothes for movement.

Library Tea Society
Join us on Saturday, August 9th, at 12:00pm, for the next meeting of the Library Tea Society!
This month, we'll be enjoying a High Tea, with snacks and teas from England.
For all ages.
Teen Hangout
Join us on Saturday, August 9th, from 4:30 - 6:30pm, for our next Teen Hangout!
We'll have snacks, games, and our Nintendo Switch ready to go.
For teens 14 - 18 years old.
