A Message From Your Principal
Dear Eames Way Families,
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our families for joining us for our Trimester II Conferences this week. These meetings are a vital part of our partnership, and we are so grateful for your continued support in this important work. We are incredibly proud of the growth and dedication our students have shown this term, and it was a pleasure to share those successes with you. We were also thrilled to have so many families visit the building to witness our recent student presentations; seeing our young learners share their hard work with an audience of loved ones is always a highlight!
Our students enjoyed two fantastic learning experiences this week thanks to the generosity of our PTO. First-grade students participated in an inspiring visit with author and illustrator Emilie Boon, while students in grades K-5 explored the world of rhythm and rhyme during a visit from poet Amanda Davis. These enrichments provide such valuable opportunities for our students to connect with professional creators and expand their own artistic horizons.
We are exceptionally proud of the students participating in the "International Mentorship / Pen Pal Enrichment Program" with Miss Benedict. These students have taken the wonderful initiative to collect gently-used clothing, games, and school supplies to send to their peers in El Salvador, serving as a beautiful inspiration for all of us to be active global citizens. To further their mission, members of this group created and presented a special project during all school lunches today. They did a phenomenal job teaching their peers about El Salvador and answering thoughtful questions about both the country and their donation project.
Finally, please join me in a huge round of applause for Mrs. Tracy Niland! We were so excited to recognize her this week with the Marshfield Public School District’s "Belonging Builder" award. This honor is a testament to the care and inclusivity she brings to our community every day. Congratulations, Mrs. Niland!
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
With Gratitude,
Ms. Bishop
Principal
MPSD Belonging Builder Award
Eames Way Elementary is proud to recognize Tracy Niland as a true Marshfield Belonging Builder. In her fourth grade classroom, Tracy creates an exemplary environment where every student feels valued, respected, and known. She intentionally builds strong relationships with her students, fostering a sense of trust, inclusion, and community that extends far beyond the school year. Tracy’s dedication to her students is rooted in her belief that relationships come first, and she lives that belief every day. As she often says, “once a child is my student, they are my student forever.” The lasting connections she forms and the lifelong support she offers her students are an inspiration to our entire school community.
We are excited to recognize Mrs. Niland and her outstanding partnership with the students and staff at Eames Way School! Congratulations, Mrs. Niland!

Nurse Update
We want to be able to send students outside for recess (weather permitting) for as long as possible during the winter months. Please be sure students dress in layers for school- they need warm weather gear for outdoor play even when the inside temperature is warm. If students do not have appropriate cold weather/snow gear(coats, snowpants, hats, mittens/gloves, boots) their outside activities may be somewhat limited so they stay warm and safe.
If you wear your boots to school, do not forget to pack your sneakers for Physical Education class!
A change of dry clothing(socks, pants and shoes) in backpacks are encouraged and keep students comfortable after snowy recess play.
Please remember to send students to school with a refillable water bottle. Hydration will help with dry skin and chapped lips.
Here are a few tips to stay healthy and stop the spread this winter season:
We are seeing an increase in the number of coughs, colds, runny noses, and fevers. If your child still seems tired, pale, with little appetite, not tolerating solid foods, and generally “not themselves”, PLEASE DO NOT send them to school. Some Viral illnesses may take longer before your child is well enough to return to school.
Keep your child home from school if they have a fever, especially in combination with a cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, congestion, runny nose, or sore throat. They should remain home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.
Keep your child home from school for 24 hours if they have nausea, vomiting or diarrhea(return when tolerating a normal diet).
Keep your child home for 24 hours after receiving medication(such as antibiotics or eye ointments) for treatment of illness/infection.
Lunch Menu & Nutrition Update
Breakfast and lunch are free options to all students for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note, breakfast is available upon arrival from 8:35-8:50 am, however, students can also get breakfast during the morning once the school day starts if they skipped breakfast or forgot their snack. For more information, please visit MPSD School Nutrition.
My School Bucks is an online account for families to easily manage and pay for school meals, a la carte items (such as ice cream), etc. These accounts stay with students throughout grades K-12 and funds can be replenished when balances get low. Here's the information from the MPSD Nutrition webpage on how to set up your account - My School Bucks.

Volunteering at EWS
CORI applications need to be redone every few years and we are currently in a three-year cycle covering 2023-2026. All volunteers need to complete a CORI, even if you were approved prior to 2023. Please visit the Front Office to complete a CORI application and provide a copy of your license - it will only take a minutes. Applications are then reviewed by MPSD Central Office, which can take up to a week to process. If you have any questions, please contact Val Quigley (781-834-5090 or vquigley@mpsd.org).
However, to clarify, if you have an approved CORI from last year, it is still valid for this school year!
