Principal's Message From Dr. Otway
Leadership Week + Attendance Matters! đâ
Dear College Park Families,
We are excited to celebrate đ Leadership Weekđ WednesdayâFriday (February 18â20) as we continue Empowering a Legacy of Leaders at College Park Elementary!
Our teachers will be planning with precision on Monday and Tuesday to ensure every lesson, small group, and leadership experience is aligned to our goals for growth. That means when students return Wednesday through Friday, we are ready to maximize every minute.
We have March, April, and May to finish strong. Every day matters.
It is imperative that students are in school, on time, and ready to lead and learn. We are working toward:
100% of students meeting typical growth
Students pushing toward stretch growth
Continued increase in Lexile levels in reading
Strong skill mastery across all subjects
Leadership Week is not just a celebration, it is a commitment. A commitment to practicing our 7 Habits, setting goals, reflecting on progress, and building the skills that prepare our scholars for the next level.Your role is imperative.
Consistent attendance ensures:
Students donât miss targeted instruction
They participate in leadership activities
They stay on track toward their academic and reading growth goals
They build confidence as leaders
We need every scholar present and engaged Wednesday through Friday as we sharpen both our leadership and academic skills.
Together, we are building leaders.
Together, we are finishing strong.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to your childâs success.

Leadership Week Planning
Next week, College Park Elementary is proud to celebrate Leadership Week! Throughout the week, our scholars will focus on strengthening their leadership skills by working on their leadership portfolios and practicing the principles from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. These activities empower our scholars to reflect on their growth, set goals, and continue developing as confident leaders.
In preparation for our upcoming Leader in Me school visit in March, our Student Leadership Team met Friday with our Leader in Me Coordinator to review our progress and reflect on the powerful impact the FranklinCovey Education Leader in Me process has made within our school. We are excited to showcase how our scholars are truly living the habits and leading with purpose each day.
