September was a busy month with room changes for both staff and children. We were getting used to new routines. Fall is upon us so a lot of arts and craft activities centered around this. Finally, we acknowledged TRC day by wearing orange on September 29 and we watched the march outside.
In October we will be doing activities based on Thanksgiving and Halloween. We will be having our Thanksgiving dinner on October 13, 2026. We will be doing our Halloween party on October 30, 2026 as well as going trick or treating to the departments.
Picture day is October 6, 2026. The daycare has a time slot for 8:00am-8:45am at the school. It is the parent’s responsibility to take their child.
A reminder that it is getting colder we ask that children are dressed for the weather. Also a reminder that it is cold and flu season so we ask that if your child is sick please keep them at home until they feel better.
We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe and happy Halloween.

Notices from the Daycare
We are looking for subs, if you know of anyone who has a Level 1 Early Childhood Educator they can drop off their resume at the daycare or email it to afneddaycare@kipohtakaw.com
Reminder that no one under the age of 16 is permitted to pick up children from the Daycare.
The Toddler 3 room has their own door if parents can use this for drop off and pick up.

News from the Baby Room:
Tansi parents,
In September we did fall arts and crafts. We also did “All About Me”.
In October we are going to be doing Thanksgiving and Halloween crafts. We are helping the babies learn to use a spoon and showing them the toys. We are also helping them with hand eye coordination by playing and throwing balls.
For our Halloween crafts we are doing ghosts and pumpkins. Our Thanksgiving crats will be turkeys and falling leaves.

Tansi,
In our routine for October we will be doing the numbers 1-5 in Cree. The toddlers will start sitting in a circle to read books. We will be learning basic commands in Cree. Our art work for the month is:
Week 1 – Turkeys and leaves
Week 2 – Witches
Week 3 – Ghosts and pumpkins
Week 4 – Halloween lanterns

Tansi from Toddler 2 Room:
We had an awesome first month in the T2 room. We got to know each other better. We went for a walk and collected leaves for our tree. We also had a feast which everyone enjoyed. Thank you Sharon, Ernest and Ryan. On orange shirt day, September 29, we watched the children and staff from the school march by.
For October, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. We will be making hand turkeys and giving thanks to all our blessings. We will be focusing on our colours, numbers and shapes. We are also excited for Halloween and getting to dress up. We look forward to another exciting month for our Toddler two room.

News from Toddler 3 (Preschool) Room:
Tansi parents,
As we start October we are excited for this month’s activities and festivities that we have planned. During this month we will be learning how to dress ourselves, name recognition, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. We will also be learning how to follow instruction on top of the many more useful skills throughout this month.
We hope you all have a wonderful month ahead and stay warm!

Afterschool News:
Afterschool News: The children arrive at 3:00, have a snack and enjoy some activities or a movie. Reminder that every second Thursday children are here at 1:30pm for school early dismissal. Please send indoor shoes and a water bottle. Reminder that children on the daycare afterschool list can attend daycare when the school is closed. October 26 they will be attending daycare full day.
