The Sheiko Weekly Update

Dear Sheiko Families,

What a wonderful week of learning!

There were two events that truly warmed my heart this week. The first was finishing our second chapter book, The Frindle Files, on Zoom with approximately 30 students each night! We loved it so much that we are planning our third read-aloud, Charlotte’s Web, for April 20–23 and April 27, 28, and 30. Please mark your calendars! I would love to have even more students join us—following along with the book makes the experience even more special.

The second event was honoring Ryder Clark, Madison Sweidan, and King Allen at the West Bloomfield Youth Assistance Awards ceremony. These students truly demonstrate leadership, character, and kindness—each in their own unique way—and we are so proud of them.

Our “Big Announcement” this week is that the third quarter has come to a close. This is a great opportunity to help your child set a goal for finishing the year strong—whether that’s completing the IXL challenge, joining us for our read-aloud, or focusing on academic growth. We are working hard to grow our NWEA and M-STEP scores, and setting meaningful goals can make a big difference.

Have a wonderful and restful spring break! We look forward to welcoming everyone back on April 6.

Our students had a blast at the Super U Assembly, full of energy, fun, and great participation. They learned about believing in themselves and using their “super powers” like kindness, respect, and perseverance every day.

Thanks to the PTO funds raised this year, we were able to sponsor this awesome experience for our students. We loved seeing their excitement!

Next year our 5th grade students have the option to participate in our Band, Choir, or Orchestra programs. Each program offers its own unique opportunities for growth, creativity, and community. Cirque Among Us is coming to Sheiko for an all-day, school-wide experience where every student participates in hands-on circus activities like juggling, balance, and teamwork. The day ends with a live student performance!
