The style statement fashion club
Knights- do you have a passion for fashion and creativity? The Style Statement Fashion Club brings together our students who are interested in fashion design, styling, production, and the creative arts. Our attending knights collaborate with other peer designers, explore the fashion industry, and express their creativity through a variety of projects. Our students are encouraged to thrift, repurpose, and craft using found materials while developing their unique style and learning more about the fashion design process.
Fashion Design Lunch and Learn
We had several RMS students this week joined our Fraser High School's Fashion Design program for a Lunch & Learn event. Attending students explored the world of fashion design, learned about creative opportunities within the program at FHS, and discovered how the course helps develop skills in design, textiles, garment construction, and fashion industry careers.
Game Unplugged Club session our of to a good start with knights attending
The Gaming Unplugged Club sponsored by Mrs. Loveridge brings our students together to enjoy a variety of board games, card games, dice games, and strategy challenges in a screen-free environment. It's a great opportunity to connect with friends and have fun while building teamwork, critical thinking, and social skills.
Medical Careers in the military presentation in Intro. to helath
Our students in Mrs. Westfall intro. to health course recently welcomed SGT Sarah Walker-McGinnis from Bravo Company, B4 Phoenix, who shared information about the benefits of military service and the many medical career opportunities available within the military. The presentation provided our students with valuable insight into future education, training, and career pathways.
Industrial Technology I: Technical Drawing Skills
Our students in Industrial Technology I are developing foundational drafting and technical drawing skills by creating detailed sketches from assigned drawings. As they work through the projects, our Knights practiced proper layout techniques, including centering drawings and following industry-standard expectations for accuracy and organization. These hands-on activities helped build the precision, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills essential in technical and industrial careers.

Second step lessons for Oct. 12th during seminar
7th grade Lesson for week of Oct. 12th : Identifying Obstacles Unit Theme-Mindset and Goals
Summary: This week’s lesson will help our 7th grade knights distinguish between internal obstacles and external obstacles. Understanding these obstacles will help them plan how to handle them in the future.
At home connecter: Tell your 7th grade knight about a time you faced an obstacle. Was it an internal or external obstacle? Ask your child to share an example of each type of obstacle in their own life.
8th grade lesson for the week of Oct 12th: Motivation Factors 1 Unit Theme-Mindset and Goals
Summary: This week’s lesson will introduce two important factors that affect motivation: success expectation and value. Your 8th grade knight will consider how their belief in their ability to succeed and how much they value a task influences their motivation.
At home connecter: Tell your knight about a time when you doubted your ability to do something but succeeded anyway. Ask them about something they feel confident doing and something they’re less sure about. What might help them feel more capable?

Lunch Menu for October
Fraser Nutrition Services Website
Honor The Castle by respecting others, modeling responsibility, and making safe choices.
Outside Food and Beverage Policy
Outside food delivery is a safety concern. We do not want to have strangers and people that we do not know coming to our buildings with delivery bags. It also is a workload issue for office personnel. Managing multiple food deliveries during lunchtime becomes an additional responsibility for our office staff.
The District works hard to provide a variety of healthy, good-tasting food in its cafeterias, and students are always free to bring their own lunch to school. We will continue to follow our past practice of making sure students receive lunch if they forget to bring one from home.

As always, the safety of our staff, students, and families remains our top priority. These additional measures will support our students in making good choices and create a safe environment for all to enjoy the event. We encourage our families and students to take advantage of these athletic events. We can come together with our school community and reconnect with family and friends. To provide the most effective process for entering and exiting Richards Middle School, we need our families consistent help in observing the below traffic expectations:
- Our RMS bus loop is only to be used by emergency vehicles and our district’s school buses between the hours of 7:15 am through 4:00 pm.
- To help with our daily traffic flow, please follow our painted traffic arrows in our parking lot.
- In supporting our traffic flow for entering and exiting for all vehicles, please observe no standing, parking, waiting and stopping in the parking lot aisle ways.
- When exiting Richards Middle School at dismissal time, please utilize either our RMS Garfield exit, FHS Garfield exit or FHS Klein exit.
Please be aware of students, families and guests who are walking in our parking lots by obeying traffic laws, regulating your speed, and following the traffic direction arrows. Images can be found below. Please no parking or standing where you see a red x.
Our district security personnel will communicate these expectations to our families when needed. Thank you for your support with keeping RMS a safe travel area for everyone on campus.
PLEASE BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR ADDITIONAL SIGNS ALONG THE DROP OFF LANE TO HELP DIRECT TRAFFIC FLOW!
Attention students who utilize the crosswalk to walk over Garfield Road
This is a reminder to our students to ensure that you are using the appropriate area to cross the street to get to the other side of Garfield. Please see pictures below for reference of our crosswalk signs and striped area by the Richards Middle School Electronic Board. We want our students to make sure they are looking both ways and being aware of vehicles traveling on Garfield. Always wait to cross this crosswalk when the road is clear to do so.
We thank you for always being aware of your safety and traveling vehicles as you arrive and leave RMS at this crosswalk area.
