Principal Message
Dear Parents & Guardians,
How is it possible that Thanksgiving is already next week? As we head into the holiday season, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on all that there is to be grateful for. We are thankful for the gift of working with you, your children and our community each day.
Just a reminder that students have school on Monday and Tuesday next week. The building will also be open on Wednesday from 8:00–12:00, should you need to stop by. Our Lost and Found continues to grow, and all items will be donated on Tuesday evening. Please take a moment on Monday or Tuesday to check for any missing belongings. If you are cleaning out clothing at home, we also have a clothing donation bin located behind the school. Donations placed in this bin help support WCS directly.
We are excited to announce the launch of the 2025–2026 Yearbook Cover Design Contest! Students may submit their fully colored design on an 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper to Ms. Colbeth by Friday, December 19th. Please remind your child to complete their work during free time and to include the following on their cover:
Windham Center School
2025–2026
5th and 6th Grade
Their name written in pencil on the back
Posters around the school provide additional details.
A heartfelt thank you to all families for the overwhelming support of our annual food drive. This year’s collection is one of the largest we’ve seen in several years, and because of your generosity, we will be spreading extra holiday joy throughout our community.
We will not have a new newsletter next week due to a two day school week. Warm wishes for a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving!
Mrs. Martin
WCS Principal

Greenhouse In a Glass
Mrs. Pratte’s and Mr. Hemmer’s Sixth Grade Science classes put their knowledge into action over the past couple weeks. They developed their own miniature greenhouses to watch and learn about Earth’s water cycle. The students had a great time watching their crops (wheat grass) grow taller and stronger while making daily observations and recording data to monitor progress.

Grade 5 Gingerbread Houses
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Each year we turn our cafeteria into a Candyland so the fifth graders may create gingerbread houses as part of our Winter tradition for December. We are asking each class to donate specific items. In addition, we ask that each child bring a container that day to carry their masterpiece home (a shoe box works great).
Please find your child’s homeroom teacher’s name below to identify the product we are asking you to donate. Items should be brought into your child’s classroom by Monday, December 1st. Thank you so much for your generosity and helping us continue enjoying this annual STEAM project.
Fleet/Santo- tubs of white frosting (16 ounce size)
Clegg - mini candy canes or peppermints
Parsons- bags/tubs of gum drops
Serian - large bags of skittles
Misiaszek/Lizotte- boxes of graham crackers
Ditolla/Rice - paper goods (please use this link Sign Up Genius link to avoid duplicates)
Fuccillo- bags of small pretzel sticks (please no large or pretzel shaped)
We would love to have volunteers to help us on Friday, December 5th from 8:45am-10:30am (Snow Date is Friday, December 12th). You must have completed your background check, fingerprints and Vector training through the SAU in order to volunteer for this event. If you are available and would like to help, please click this link to complete the Gingerbread House Activity Google Form.
Thank you…
