We're excited to announce two educational field trips coming up in October! Students will have the opportunity to explore the Natural History Museum in Exposition Park on October 9 and visit the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant in Playa del Rey on October 23. These hands-on learning experiences help bring classroom lessons to life and give students a chance to learn outside the classroom.

If you would like your student to participate, please complete the required Google Form, which includes both the field trip permission slip and the TUSD lunch order form:

October Field Trip Interest Form

All forms must be submitted by Sunday evening to allow us to finalize attendance, lunches, and transportation arrangements.

Please note: Students will not be permitted to purchase lunch during the field trips. Families may choose to pack a sack lunch for their student or order a TUSD-provided lunch through the form.

We look forward to providing these exciting learning opportunities for our students! πŸ¦–πŸ’§πŸ“š

On September 25, our students enjoyed an exciting field trip to the California Science Center. It was wonderful to see students exploring the exhibits, engaging in hands-on learning experiences, and discovering new things together. πŸ”¬

One of the highlights of the day was watching students socialize, build friendships, and strengthen connections with their peers outside of the classroom setting. The trip provided a fun and interactive opportunity for students to learn through exploration while creating lasting memories with their classmates. ✨

We are grateful to all the families who supported this experience and look forward to many more educational adventures throughout the school year! πŸ“š

As part of Torrance Meridian Academy's commitment to safe and effective digital learning, Torrance Unified School District asks all families to be familiar with our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). This policy outlines how students are expected to use school technology responsiblyβ€”both to support academic success and to ensure a secure, respectful online environment. Here's what families should know:

  • Privileges: Access to TUSD Network / technology can be revoked if rules are broken. All use is monitored and subject to review by school staff.

  • Acceptable Use: Technology must be used for school-related activities onlyβ€”no inappropriate content, use, or unauthorized software.

  • District Responsibilities: The District works to keep systems secure and reliable, but cannot guarantee full protection or accuracy of online information.

  • Web & Email Policies: Student work and photos may be shared online, but only with limited identification. School email is for academic use and monitored by staff.

  • Personal Responsibility: Students must report misuse, keep their login secure, avoid damaging or altering systems, and use technology in ways that are safe and respectful for all.

These guidelines help ensure a safe, productive learning environment for all students. For the entire AUP, please click here.

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, join us for the 17th Annual Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walkβ€”a fun and meaningful community tradition where families and friends walk together from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back (about 3.4 miles) in support of Torrance Meridian Academy. If you can't make it in person, you can register as a virtual walker and join in the fun from home!

When you register as a walker (or virtual walker), every dollar of the $30 registration fee goes directly back to Torrance Meridian Academyβ€”helping our school continue to thrive! Click here to register.

What is CYBHI Billing? What is CYBHI Billing?

Did you know Torrance Unified can be reimbursed for wellness and mental health services we already provide to students, at no cost to families? This funding, part of a statewide initiative called CYBHI, stays within our district, goes directly toward expanding and sustaining these programs, and it never affects your personal insurance.

The easiest way to help is by adding your child's insurance information during annual PowerSchool registration. If that information isn't on file, our partner Care Solace may reach out to collect it, so completing registration now saves everyone a step.

Questions? Contact your child's school counselor.
