Dear Families,

Welcome back! 🤩We hope your family had a wonderful and relaxing spring break filled with time to recharge and make special memories. We are excited to have our students back and ready for a strong finish to the school year!

This week, we’re looking forward to our BOGO Book Fair! Students will have the opportunity to shop during their scheduled class time, and families are invited to join us on Tuesday from 3:30–5:00pm when the book fair will be open after school. It’s a great chance to build your home library and encourage a love of reading. 📚

Looking ahead, our 3rd–5th grade students will begin state standardized testing next week. It’s important for all students to get a good night’s rest, especially during testing. We know schedules can be busy, so here are two simple tips to help:

  • Try to keep a consistent bedtime routine, even if it’s just 10–15 minutes of winding down without screens.
  • Prep the night before (lay out clothes, pack backpacks) to make mornings less stressful and allow for a calmer start to the day.

A friendly reminder that school starts at 8:30am, and arrival begins at 8:20am. For safety reasons, please do not drop off students before 8:20am, as there is no supervision before that time.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. The best way to get in touch with me is through email, faasoae@wwcsd.net, or Class Dojo messaging.

Looking forward to another great week at Schweitzer!🐝

Sincerely,

Emily Fa'asoa, Schweitzer Principal

LEADERSHIP CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE MONTH LEADERSHIP CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE MONTH

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

Each month, we introduce a leadership character trait that we focus on as a school. At the end of the month, we celebrate students who staff members notice demonstrating that trait in their words and actions. This month, our character trait is self-control.

Self-control means being in charge of your body, words, and actions, and stopping to think before you make a choice.

Example:
When you feel like calling out an answer, you use self-control by raising your hand and waiting for your turn. When you feel upset during a game at recess, you take a deep breath and keep playing instead of yelling or quitting.

  • Help your child be successful at school by getting them to school on time each day.
  • When students are late or unneccessarily miss days of school, it negatively impacts their learning and they miss out on socializing with friends and fall out of their daily rountine.
  • We do understand that students get sick sometimes and need to stay home from school to rest and family emergencies do occur but if your child is healthy, we appreciate you sending your child to school on-time each and every day.
  • Thank you for supporting your child's education!

ATTENDANCE LINE 734-419-2757 ATTENDANCE LINE 734-419-2757
