Springtown ISD Weather Update
Up to Date Information From the Superintendent
We have received a few questions regarding the potential winter weather that is anticipated to come into our area later this week. The current forecast from the National Weather Service is predicting 1 - 4 inches of snow accumulation from the metroplex north and west, with lighter amounts expected in Central Texas. There is also a 30% chance for accumulations to exceed 6 inches in areas west and northwest of the metroplex.
We will continue to receive updates from the National Weather Service and will share any important information as soon as possible.
Please know that is always our intention to make decisions as quickly as possible. There are multiple factors we must consider, but the safety of our students, staff, and families is always our number one priority.
'Stay safe and warm , and we will keep you updated! #PorcupineFamily

Arrival and Dismissal Times
Parents & Guardians,
We ask for your help to make sure your students are prompt & prepared for school each day. Your child needs to be at school by 7:30 when our morning assembly begins. Your child will be marked tardy at 7:35 AM and beyond. Every moment counts during our instructional day and for this reason we ask for your support. Starting in November our amazing cafeteria will make baggies of breakfast to go for those students who are past the 7:35 arrival mark to be able to eat and not be late to class. We will maintain our normal breakfast serving lines between 7:10 - 7:35 AM. Together, we can do our best to make sure your child receives the best. Lastly, our school day ends at 3:20 PM. We ask for your help when scheduling appointments to keep these times in mind. We appreciate your partnership and cooperation with these timelines.

Transportation Change Procedure
Goshen Creek Elementary asks for your partnership in following our protocol for request for student transportation changes to help ensure all of our students are safe, secure, and successful.
Goshen Creek Elementary Procedures
Please take a few moments to review our morning and afternoon drop-off zones. The Parent Hub has more detailed information regarding these two procedures. Your child will receive their car tags with student ID Numbers on Meet the Teacher to be used for parent pick-up starting on day one. All parents, guardians, or persons picking up students will be required to have their car tags visible in the window. If you do not have your car tag, you will be asked to park so we can check identification for student safety. Please make sure that all of your current information is up to date within Skyward and all possible candidates that could pick-up your child are listed as an emergency contact. Please take a look at the items listed below that can help make this process go smoothly as we keep everyone safe.
1. Practice with your child having the opportunity to respond after hearing their first & last name. This helps tremendously when we begin calling names at the end of the day for dismissal and them being able to respond quickly.
2. Don't arrive for student pick-up until 3:00 PM. Students will not be released until 3:20 PM. By not arriving until three it helps to not cause a traffic jam on Pojo & Highway 199.
3. Have your car rider tag everyday. This helps ensure safety and fluency of this process.
4. Be kind in line. The first week is always a challenge but together we can be successful.
5. If your child needs assistance buckling up, please pull into the parking lot or out of the way of loading, to assist them and the line can continue.
6. Lastly, speed bumps have been added within both pick-up or drop-off lines to promote slower speeds and safety for all.
After a few weeks, the line will be completely cleared in 15-20 minutes. We appreciate you, you sharing your precious child or children with us, and working together to make sure everyone is safe, secure, and successful.
