World Read Aloud

World Read Aloud Day is celebrated on the first Wednesday of February. Each year, readers, writers, and listeners from communities worldwide come together to celebrate the power of reading, sharing stories, and continuing to expand the reach of global literacy.

This year, Aldine will celebrate this special event with members of the Leadership Team reading a book aloud to the students. The recordings of Superintendent Dr. Goffney, Dr. Javier Villarreal, Dr. Todd Davis, and Dr. Faviola Cantu will be available on the district’s YouTube channel.

Aldine ISD Black History Oratory Competition

In celebration of Black History Month, participating students in grades 3-12 are competing in the inaugural districtwide black history oratory competition. Spoken presentations are being created by students around the 2021 theme: Leadership Matters in Aldine. The winner of each campus competition will move on to compete at the district level. We know that each student has a voice and it is our hope that participation in the oratory competition will empower them. District winners will be announced in late February.

National School Counseling Week

During the week of February 1-5, 2021, we will celebrate our counselors who make have a tremendous impact on our students, teachers, families, and communities.

The FACE Department would like to recognize the school counselors who serve as Family and Community Engagement Campus Liaisons. Your dedication to others does not go unnoticed.
