Letter from Mr. V
Dear Jaguar Community,
There is much for me to note in this week's letter, so I'll jump right in! First off, I want to thank our 4th grade teacher, Ms. Christine Newberg, for her efforts in getting a Fall musical planned for next school year. Along those lines, I am pleased to announce that JES has been offered the Disney Stage Connect grant for the next two years! Christine has been working to ensure that we can meet the requirements of the grant, and now that we are accepted, the real work begins. I cannot wait to see what comes from this project, and you can stay tuned for more information!
Our 6th grade boys recently took a trip over to the GMTCC to see what career opportunities exist there. Mrs. Ballard, school guidance counselor, organized this trip, and our 6th grade jaguars really enjoyed the hands on experiences they had there. Click this link to see pictures of their time, and to read Mrs. Ballard's write up.
I have been fielding questions about this school year's yearbook over the past week or so. See the flyer below for information about how to purchase a copy. Questions about the yearbook can be directed to Donna Farnham (dfarnham@lnsd.org) or Becca Malkin (rmalkin@lnsd.org).
Lastly, as you may remember, JES has been enjoying being a Year of the Book school site this year. The author visits, readings, and the many, many books have been a welcome gift here at JES. CLiF, the sponsoring organization, is able to pay for the books and activities through the generosity of others. If you support this celebration of literacy and can give, please consider making a donation to Book if for CLiF: Zach's 7th Annual Fun Run. Click this link for more information.
