The Weekly Wildcat
News and information from Dr. VanRheen, Principal
Message from the Principal
This week we head into May! Seniors are closing in on their last days.
Now is the time to check and double check Skyward. Please assist with missing assignments and knowing current grades. Lots of tests are coming up!
Please see the finals schedule below. We do not give early finals. Students need to be in attendance on these dates. Seniors will take finals in classes (no special schedule) on May 11th and 12th.
Teacher appreciation is one week away. Thank you for your donations to celebrate our AWESOME staff!

OPT OUTS for Finals
Students will have the opportunity to OPT OUT of (3 for underclassmen, 2 for seniors) finals. There is a form parents must sign. Not all students will qualify, be looking for these forms. Seniors will get their forms this week. Underclassmen will get their forms the week of May 4th.
Last Days of School for Underclassmen
Each day of finals is a half day with no lunch served. Buses run at normal times. I encourage students to find a ride home if they are a bus rider. Breakfast will be served each day. Foreign Exchange Students
Ever thought about hosting a student from another country? We have students looking for a home. We LOVE having exchange students at LHS they bring culture and a lovely perspective to our classes. If you are interested, reach out to: janicerake@gmail.com
Here is one student that is ready to be a WILDCAT!
Maelle, 16, is a delightful exchange student from a small village in Switzerland who excels in aerial arts/circus festival activities. She needs a loving host family (August-May) to achieve her dream of attending an American high school. Maelle has been involved with a community circus festival for many years doing aerial arts, rope jumping and training children. She also enjoys card/board games, knitting, baking, painting, reading, dance, music, outdoor activities and sports (tennis, volleyball, horse riding, skiing, sledding). She has an 11 year old brother who has severe health issues and is a loving big sister with lots of empathy and maturity. She has a 3.3 gpa and excellent English. Her dad is French so she bring French culture as well!
