Homecoming Dance Ticket Information
- Tickets will be on sale TODAY, Monday, Sept 30th, through Friday, Oct 4rd during all lunch periods in front of the Student Activities Office.
- You must have your Leyden plastic ID or Minga ID to purchase a ticket. You CANNOT purchase tickets for other students (unless they are a non-Leyden guest...see info below).
- Tickets are $20 each. Cash or checks (made payable to Leyden High Schools) will be the ONLY forms of payment accepted.
- Students who want to bring a non-Leyden guest must get a guest form from the Deans' office. Guest forms have to be completed & approved in the Deans' Office by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2nd. You must bring the approved guest form with you to purchase your guest ticket.

Have you heard of Project Glimmer? The Project Glimmer Empowerment Academy is a six-week leadership course (on Zoom) designed to help students develop essential life skills, including goal-setting, presentation skills, and self-reflection. Their program has a proven track record of boosting self-confidence and inspiring participants to envision and pursue an empowered future. By the end of the academy, participants will walk away with a comprehensive plan, new tools, and knowledge that will support their goal-setting, self-confidence, and financial literacy journey. As Academy alumni, graduates will join an expanded network of Project Glimmer peers and mentors.
Participants who complete the program (including attendance, camera engagement during sessions, and homework completion) can earn up to a $500 stipend!
On Wednesday, September 18th, during the lunch periods, there were two putting greens in the Commons. Here are some of the people who stopped by to 'putt' their mini-golf skills to the test. Everyone who participated had a ball! A special thanks to the members of Leyden's Golf Team who helped make this Student Activities event a success.
On Thursday, September 19th, the Ecology Club went to a West Suburban Conference workshop at Morton High School. The students took a garden tour; attended discussion sessions about native species, water, flooding, and biodiversity; participated in a tree planting; and even came back with a tree sapling to be planted in West Leyden's natural prairie area. We Are... Awards nominees can qualify to receive Javaccino (students) / Gold and Bold Café (staff members) gift cards. In addition, students may be recognized at Student of the Month breakfasts and staff members may be recognized at staff meetings.
