Message from the Principal
Dear Mitchell High School Families,
What an incredible start to the 2026-2027 school year! Our first week was filled with positive energy, excitement, and a genuine sense of community as staff welcomed students back to campus. We were especially excited to welcome our newest Marauders during Freshman Jump Start on August 11. Ninth-grade students had the opportunity to become acquainted with Mitchell High School through campus tours led by upperclassmen, relationship-building activities, and a more relaxed schedule designed to help ease the transition into high school. On August 12, all grade levels participated in class meetings where students were introduced to or reminded of our school culture, expectations, policies, and procedures. These conversations help ensure that every student understands what it means to be a contributing member of Marauder Nation and what is required to be successful both academically and personally throughout the school year.
This week I invite all families to join us for Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 18. This evening will provide an opportunity to learn more about Mitchell High School's vision and priorities for the year ahead. Families will receive an overview of our Unified Improvement Plan, major improvement strategies, and Title I programming, hear a message from our School Accountability Committee (SAC) Chair, meet members of our staff, and learn how to best support their students through Parent Academy sessions. There will also be raffle prizes, gift card and school swag giveaways, and, of course, opportunities to visit classrooms and connect with teachers. We hope you will join us as we strengthen the partnership between home and school and work together to ensure a successful year for every Marauder.
Thank you for your continued support of Mitchell High School. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to partnering with you as we build, maintain, and restore trust while creating opportunities for every student to work toward their postsecondary goals.
