9.4.26 PLES Newsletter
Dear PLES Families,
This week, students continued to learn about our schoolwide expectations. In addition, we held our first fire evacuation drill. The students and staff did a wonderful job exiting the building in a quick, quiet, safe manner. Students also worked on their AimswebPlus assessment for reading and math and will continue into next week. Please see below for more information about AimswebPlus.
At PLES, we strive to ensure our learners are future ready! To be future ready, a strong foundation in literacy is an essential skill for success. Please join us with helping your child to develop positive reading routines by practicing at home. Click HERE for some ideas. With your partnership, our students will reach their potential and beyond. Let's FALL in love with reading.

Learning Spotlight
The AimswebPlus benchmark assessment for reading will continue through next week and we will finish with math. If you are wondering what AimswebPlus is... AimswebPlus is an online assessment and data management system that helps schools monitor and screen students' reading and math skills. It's used to identify students who may need extra support, and to monitor their progress and performance. With aimswebPlus, we can identify and group at-risk students early, monitor and report student progress, and predict performance on grade-level expectations. AimswebPlus builds upon brief, valid, and reliable measures of foundational skills in reading and math by adding standards-based assessments. In short, this assessment will help us identify your student's individual strengths and weaknesses in math and reading so we can service them better at school. Check out this brief video HERE from Pearson about AimswebPlus.
