Volume 1, Issue 34

We have a lot in store with Issue 34. There were celebration galore with Teachers and Seniors to adore. Thank you to our families for making our teachers feel so appreciated and our teachers for making our seniors feel so special. This is not how any of us planned the end of the year in August but this is where we are at. This week's picture is a collage from our senior celebration. So Fun!!! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mr. Fineberg, our principal, at efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.

Celebrating our Seniors!!!!

It was so great to see our 2020 Graduating Seniors today as we celebrated them Drive Thru style. Each senior received a yard sign, cap and gown, ice cream, and a shower of confetti and seltzer water as they drove through the front of the campus. We are going to miss our seniors and look forward to hopefully celebrate them again in August. In the meantime, it's seltzer water, confetti, masks, and social distancing.

Principal's Message...

Last week, the district sent out a short survey for parents on how things are going for distance learning. This week, we are asking students to complete a short survey to share their experience with Distance Learning. Please encourage your students to complete the short survey. Again, thank you for your continued support and let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us

Senior and 8th Grade Pictures

We wanted to update everyone on how they can view their Senior and 8th grade pictures. The Lifetouch labs have been shut down as a nonessential business, but you can either call the Call center at 800-736-4753 or go online to MYLIFETOUCH.com to view the pictures.

The first step is to go online or call to get your student's access code to view the files.

1) Go to mylifetouch.com

2) Click on the LIVE CHAT blue button under the contact information in the bottom left-hand side of the screen.

3) Fill in your name, number, and add the Picture day ID number (EVT22XXM3) and type: Can I get the Access Code for my student?

4) They will ask you some questions to verify your relationship for security reasons.

5) Then they will provide the access credentials for you to view the images.

or

If you choose to call to get the access code, you will need to give the event number.

8th-grade event number is EVTKFCBJK

12th-grade event number is EVTTQ3ZZS

Then follow the prompts:

press 6 (K-11th grade students)

press 1 Lifetouch school portraits

press 1 to speak with someone and listen to the message

There may be a long wait time if you use the phone option. Online access code retrieval above is faster.

Behavior Support Weekly Strategy

Hi TUSD Families!

Supporting our children with big emotions can be difficult. One way we can help guide our children through their feelings is by reading picture books. Using picture books is a great way to get our children to identify what they are experiencing by connecting to the characters in stories. This can open up a dialogue between you and your child to connect to what they're experiencing, and they are able to add more coping strategies to their toolbox to help them regulate their emotions throughout the day.

A FLICKER OF HOPE taught us that when we're feeling sad or worried, we can remember to share our light with others.

PAUSE POWER taught us that when our buttons get pushed, we can pause and go to a calm space to reflect before we act out.

IT'S MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY taught us that when we're anticipating anger or frustration, we can be proactive by front-loading that we will need to be flexible.

And IT'S HARD TO BE A VERB taught us that we can give our child a tool, like a squishy or ball, to help them stay focused and on task.

For behavior supports and strategies to use at home, please visit our TUSD Social Emotional Learning At Home website, and follow me on Instagram @backtobehavior. You can also find more tips and resources at listeningfromtheheart.com.

Warm Regards,

Kim Gameroz
