TABSE TESTIMONY
October 2025

Message from the TABSE 15th President
Dear TABSE Family,
In my inaugural address, I asked a simple but powerful question: Are you in the work? Over the past 225 days, I’ve had the honor of joining hands with passionate members across Texas—building, climbing, and organizing with a shared purpose. Together, we’ve rolled up our sleeves and started doing something different.
These first seven and a half months have been about action—not talk. From launching five powerful Masterclasses to strengthening strategic partnerships and laying the foundation for sustainable growth, we are truly moving forward as one.
In this time, we have:
-
Expanded membership engagement through regional convenings and listening sessions.
-
Elevated literacy initiatives that directly impact students and communities across Texas.
-
Built new bridges with higher education, corporate, and community partners to create pipelines for educators and leaders.
-
Secured commitments for sustainable funding and sponsorship to keep our mission thriving.
-
Positioned TABSE as a visible voice for equity, advocacy, and educational excellence at the local, state, and national level.
I invite you to click the picture below to view the attached “225 Days of Progress” report to witness what we’ve built together. It reflects our commitment to accelerating literacy, expanding our impact, and making sure no member of this body is left behind—because as I’ve said before, no part is greater than the whole.
Let’s keep climbing. Let’s keep building. Let’s stay in the work.
With gratitude and purpose,
Dr. DarWIN P. Spiller
15th President, TABSE

Message from the Executive Director, Dr. LaBotta Taylor
Dear TABSE Family,
As we move forward in this season of growth and impact, I am reminded of the incredible strength of our community. Together, we continue to champion educational equity, empower our educators, and uplift our students across Texas.
Our work is not only about programs and policies—it is about people. Every conversation, classroom visit, and professional development opportunity brings us closer to our mission of ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to an excellent education.
To sustain this important work, we must also ensure that TABSE remains fiscally strong. This requires securing sponsorships, forging innovative partnerships, and generating the revenue that allows us to expand our reach and deepen our impact. Alongside our President, Dr. Spiller, and with the support of our Accounting Firm, we are committed to strong fiscal management.
I encourage each of you to stay engaged, share your voice, and connect with one another. Your leadership, passion, and advocacy are the heartbeat of TABSE, and I am grateful to serve alongside you.
Let us continue to lead with purpose, serve with integrity, and inspire with vision.
With gratitude and commitment,
Dr. LaBotta Taylor
Executive Director

October Awareness & Appreciation Days
🎉 Celebrate and Bring Awareness!
October is filled with opportunities to celebrate, honor, and bring awareness to important causes in our schools and communities. From recognizing our principals, higher education professionals, teachers, coaches, and custodians, to highlighting critical issues like bullying prevention, mental health, breast cancer awareness, and Red Ribbon Week—each observance reminds us to support, uplift, and educate. Let’s take time this month to acknowledge these important dates and spread awareness together!
