A Message from Mrs. Williams
As we look ahead to the second semester and our students’ return to the new building, I know there’s a lot of excitement, and a few questions, about what to expect. I want to assure you that we will be sharing detailed information before winter break to help everyone feel prepared and confident for this exciting transition.
You can expect to receive updates regarding:
-
Our updated cell phone policy for the second semester
-
The plan for January 7–9, including what the first days back will look like
-
Additional details to help ensure a smooth return to the new building
We are so proud of how our students continue to show flexibility, patience, and P.R.I.D.E. as we prepare for this next chapter. Thank you for your ongoing support. We can’t wait to share more soon!
Go Lions!
Lions Thrift
Lions Thrift is back! This student-led project encourages students and staff to reduce, reuse, and donate by bringing in gently used clothing items they no longer wear. Collected items will be transformed into a free, in-school thrift event, where students and staff can browse and take what they need at no cost!
The event will take place during lunch periods on Tuesday, November 25.
After the event, all remaining items will be donated to Goodwill, allowing us to give back to the broader community.
Exam Week Schedule
December 15-19
We will follow a B / A / B / A / All schedule December 15-19.
Monday, December 15 - B Day
Tuesday, December 16 - A Day
Wednesday, December 17 - B Day
Thursday, December 18 - A Day
Friday, December 19 - All 8 Periods
Thank you for supporting your student as they prepare for a successful exam week!
College Credit Plus Information Night
Gahanna Lincoln High School will be virtually hosting their annual College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Student and Parent meeting on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 6:30-8:30pm. The first hour of the meeting will include general CCP information from central Ohio colleges and universities, and the second hour will highlight specific requirements from GLHS as well as time for Q&A. The link to this meeting will be shared closer to the event.
As shared on the Ohio Department of Higher Education's website, "College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families." More information about the program can be found on the Ohio Department of Higher Education's website.
If you have questions, please contact school counselor Melissa Monnig at monnigm@gjps.org.
Lunch Policy Update for Second Semester
With our upcoming move to the new building and the expanded cafeteria space, we will transition to a closed lunch for all students—freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors—beginning after Winter Break (the week of January 5). This means that students will no longer be permitted to leave the building during lunch.
We recognize this change will most significantly affect our juniors and seniors, who currently have open lunch privileges. However, our new lunch commons will provide ample space and an improved dining experience for all students on campus.
One common question we’ve received is about students in C lunch who also have Early Release. Students with Early Release are still expected to remain in the building for their scheduled lunch period before being released. Lunch is considered part of the school day schedule and is required.
Thank you for your support as we prepare for a safe, well-structured, and student-centered transition to our new building. More details will be shared as we get closer to the move!
