November 7, 2025
Happy Friday!
Thank you to all of the parents and staff who came together for parent/teacher conferences this week. It is always nice to have the opportunity to have these connections to support our students.
We are pleased to share that Q1 report cards are now archived on the parent portal for parents to view. In order to access your student's report card enter the Parent Portal Account in PowerSchool - click Student Reports. As reminder, you cannot view report cards using the Mobile App. If you have trouble accessing your Parent Portal PowerSchool Account please email: powerschool@windhamsd.org
As we look ahead to next week, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to recognize and thank our Veterans during the the Veterans' Day breakfast and assembly at Golden Brook on Monday. Our National Honor Society students and Junior ROTC students will be participating in the event, which also showcases the GBS third graders. The event provides a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for the ideals we hold dear. On behalf of WHS, I would like to express our gratitude to all those who have served and defended our freedoms. I would especially like to thank WHS's own, Ms. Michelle Feyler, Mr. Harley Hall, Mr. Pat Kaplo, Officer Matt Nieves, and School Marshal Phil O'Loughlin for their service. The school district will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day.
Good luck to the WHS football team who will be hosting their first round playoff game against Concord High School tomorrow at 12 pm.

Shout Outs
- Shout out to the Boys' Soccer Team who played in Wednesday's semi-final Division 1 Soccer game against Nashua South. While the team lost 2-1, the boys fought hard the whole game. Congratulations on a successful season!
- Thank you to the PTA who provided snacks and dinner for staff during this week's parent/teacher conferences. It was greatly appreciated!
- This week students from Alison O'Brien's AP African American Studies and Jan Robbin's Ceramics and Pottery 3 students participated in a cross-curricular activity. Charlotte Ray, Kayla Baldwin, Phoebe Cunningham, and Skylah Maslbas worked together to present David Drake aka "Dave the Potter", an American potter who lived in Edgefield, South Carolina. As an enslaved African American, Drake spent most of his life working for his masters, making pottery. His work was so visually strong and well loved, that even as a slave he was recognized as a great potter. Thank you to Ms. O'Brien and Ms. Robbins for making this learning opportunity come to fruition.

Community Service
End of Quarter Reminder: Check Your Community Service Hours
Hi Everyone,
As we wrap up the first quarter, this is a great time to check your community service accounts in x2VOL to make sure all of your submitted opportunities have been verified.
If any opportunities remain unverified, please reach out to your verifier to confirm they are still willing to verify your hours. Also, double-check that the verifier’s email address is entered and spelled correctly — this is the most common reason for delays.
Please note that after 30 days of being unverified, opportunities may be denied, so take a few minutes to review your submissions and help move the process along.
If you need any help with your community service hours or x2VOL, you are always welcome to stop by the School to Career Office (C238) for assistance.
If you are still looking for community service opportunities, please check our digital bulletin board at: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14eAVVXGOsWA6e_dWhcZAbWZ2mrx1y1JO
Thank you for your attention to this and for all the great service you’re doing in our community!
Best,
Kimber Leuteritz

Community Service Opportunities for WHS Students
WHS students have access to a wide variety of community service opportunities in our community. These experiences help students give back, explore interests, and build skills that will benefit them beyond high school.
Opportunities are updated regularly and can be found here:

Please remind your student that volunteer hours should be logged in x2VOL through Clever within 30 days of completion. An accurate email address is required for hour verification. Hours are verified & approved before they can count toward graduation requirements.
Encourage your student to get involved—volunteering is a wonderful way to grow, connect, and contribute!

General School
Free and Reduced Meal Options
We understand that some families may be affected by the upcoming changes to assistance programs beginning November 1, 2025. In the event of a prolonged shutdown, November’s SNAP food benefits may not be issued until federal funding is restored. Families participating in the SNAP program are considered Directly Certified and are unaffected by the shutdown through NSLP. Federal workers who are not being paid or have been laid off and need assistance should complete an application.
We want to remind families that applications for free or reduced price meals are available for any family who wishes to apply. Applications are sent to each household at the beginning of the school year and are available throughout the year at each school cafeteria, at the SAU office, and online.
Student Arrival and Dismissal
The first bell rings at 7:47 a.m., and students are considered tardy after 7:52 a.m. Students are dismissed at 2:17 p.m. All parent pick-up should take place behind the school building. Please do not pick up in front of the building or in the Visitor Parking lot at the front of the school. This causes safety issues in an area where students are walking and buses are operating.
Reporting Absences, Dismissals, and Tardies
We will continue to utilize PickUp Patrol as the preferred method for reporting student tardies, absences, and early dismissals.
Changes can be entered into the system from a smartphone or computer days, weeks, or months in advance, and at any time up until 1:20pm on the day of the change. After 1:50 pm, changes will not be accepted except in the case of an emergency. Such changes can be made via phone directly to the main office. The end of the school day is a busy time, so to ensure the safety of all students, please plan accordingly and limit these exceptions to emergencies only.
Alternatively, you may use the attendance email, whsattendance@windhamsd.org, or call the main WHS line at (603) 845-1558, Option 1.
If you need any assistance with PickUp Patrol, please reach out to Mr. Keshigian (mkeshigian@windhamsd.org).

Standardized Test Planning
As you plan ahead for standardized testing, here is some important information about the PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, and ACT.
Every student’s goals and timelines look a little different, so use this resource to help determine the testing schedule that’s right for your family.
The Standardized Test Information Document breaks down each of the three major standardized tests, compares the SAT and ACT, outlines a sample testing timeline, and offers test prep recommendations.
Therapy Dogs
As a district we will be having therapy dogs visiting the schools. At WHS these dogs visit advisories, as well as classrooms that sign-up for a visit. If you would like to opt your child out, please contact our guidance department (kkennedy@windhamsd.org). Thank you!
