Week of May 13th
Reading-This week we continued our content literacy unit by reading about specialized animal body parts like chameleons and animals with special ears.

1) statement of opinion. 2) reasons for the opinion (the BECAUSE sentence/s) and 3) the restatement of opinion (the frog or repeat, repeat sentence)
Phonics- This week we worked on vowel teams for the long u sound. We learned ue and ew makes the long u sound in the word. We also learned that u by itself can make the long u sound when it is used in an open syllable.
Sight words: use, saw, one, yes and some
Math- This week we completed chapter 12 learning about picture graphs and tally charts to help us organize and understand data.
Science- This week we have discussed inherited traits between parent animals and their babies. We learned to look for clues that the baby and parent share to match the correct baby to the correct parent.
