Manoa Messenger
October 2, 2026
Our first full week is behind us, and the kids are feeling it! We are heading into a busy week at Manoa, with plenty of opportunities to learn and come together as a community.
Wednesday, October 7, is National Walk to School Day! Last week, students participated in grade-level assemblies on pedestrian, bicycle, and e-bike safety presented by the Delaware County Traffic Management Project. We will put those skills into action during our schoolwide community event on Wednesday. Please see the route information below. Huge thanks to Haverford Township Police Department for helping with this event.
Wednesday also brings auditions for Frozen Kids, this year’s fourth- and fifth-grade school play! Auditions will take place October 7 from 3:45–5:30 p.m. If your child would like to audition, please sign up using this Google Form. If your child did not receive an audition form, you can print the attached copy and return it on audition day. Mrs. Dougherty and Mr. Herriot can’t wait to see our students bring the magic of Frozen to the stage!
On Thursday, Manoa Fire Company will visit to provide fire safety lessons for our kindergarten and first-grade students. Thank you Manoa Fire Company!
On Friday, join us for Manoa Goes… to HHS Fords Football! Please check the PTO Instagram or weekly email for more information.
On Saturday, the Manoa PTO will host the Manoa Fall Festival from 3–6 p.m. I hope to see everyone there for this great community event!
Last week, we also held our grade-level data team meetings, and students will begin their WIN (What I Need) groups at the end of this week. Each grade level uses multiple sources of information, including AIMSweb, MAP, PSSA where applicable, classroom performance, and teacher input, to identify opportunities for intervention, extra practice, and enrichment. These flexible groups help us respond to students’ needs while also guiding the instruction and support they receive in their classrooms.
