CELC News & Updates
Hello Creekside Families,
I hope that everyone had a fun weekend! I was able to watch my daughter play in a volleyball tournament on Saturday. Only one person per player was able to attend. My poor husband didn't even have a chance! I gave him one look and he knew that there was no way that I would miss the tournament. The girls played well and took 1st place!
Last week was a successful first week of 5 days! It was great having students with us on Wednesday! It is the final countdown of the school year. The students only have 13 days left! We are excited to "launch" our kindergarteners into first grade and we are looking forward to seeing our TK and EAK students again next year!
Many parents have inquired about the Chromebooks. The district does not plan to collect them unless you are leaving the district or moving on to high school. Our kindergarten Cubs will keep their Chromebook and bring them with them to BOES or SHES for first grade. Our EAK and TK students will hold on to them until the 2021-22 school year and use them in kindergarten. We highly encourage students to keep working on Lexia and ST Math. Your student will have access to those programs over the summer. Dual Language students will also have access to Raz Kids. If you paid for insurance on the Chromebook, it covers the computer through the end of this school year. You will have the option to renew the insurance for the upcoming year.
Coins for Cubs is still going strong! Thank you for all of your contributions. Each classroom that raises $125 or more will get a popsicle party. The class that raises the most money will get a second prize of their choice. The last day to donate coins is Friday. The PTA is also wrapping up the Boon Supply fundraiser. The soft deadline is Friday, May 28 but orders can be made after that.

This month's theme is all about reflecting on what gives our life meaning. Being a part of something bigger than ourselves or focusing on things that we value is key to our well-being. Having a faith, spirituality or being involved with a particular cause or passion can provide this sense of something bigger, or it could be relationships that you nurture and that give your life meaning. Let's take time to reflect on what we care about this month and resolve to try and keep these things at the front of our minds as society starts opening up again. Try unplugging from technology, reconnecting with nature and getting more sleep! Join CELC in making more meaningful choices this month.
