On Tuesday, our school community came together to honor all those who have served or are currently serving in the military. There is no greater privilege than welcoming our veterans and active-duty service members to Gold Rush Elementary.

We were proud to host a celebratory breakfast for our GRE military families, providing a special time to connect and share gratitude. Students across all grade levels participated by singing songs and sharing heartfelt words of appreciation.

We extend our deepest thanks to our veterans and active military members for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country.

At Gold Rush, our staff works together as a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to ensure that every student has the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support needed for success. As a PLC, teachers collaborate weekly to answer four key questions:

1. What do we want students to know and be able to do?

2. How will we know if students have achieved mastery?

3. What enrichment opportunities do some students need?

4. What supports do some students need?

This week, teachers across all grade levels came together to examine common formative assessments (CFAs) focused on analytical writing. CFAs are short, focused checks that help teachers see which concepts and skills students are approaching, meeting, or exceeding.

After reviewing the results, teachers identified trends and specific students who may benefit from enrichment or additional support. Together, they developed strategies to help students strengthen their ability to write about one or more texts.

We are proud of our staff’s ongoing dedication to collaboration and their commitment to meeting the needs of every student at Gold Rush. Their teamwork ensures that all students continue to grow and thrive!

To help us plan for the 2026–2027 school year and maintain small class sizes, we ask that all families complete this Intent to Return Survey as soon as possible. Knowing your plans helps us determine the grade levels where we can welcome new students.

To help families learn more about our wonderful school community, we hosted two building tours on this week. This was chance for families to explore our facilities and meet our dedicated staff. • Current open enrolled families need to open enroll incoming kindergartners.

• Current open enrolled families with students transitioning to Cimarron Middle School for 6th grade need to open enroll.
