The Guenthers Continue to Secure the Future for St. Luke’s
We are deeply grateful to the Jack and Valerie Guenther Foundation for their second $500,000 gift to the St. Luke’s Episcopal School Permanent Endowment Fund, in memory of Valerie Guenther, to support the compensation of the St. Luke’s Head of School. Grandparents Jack and the late Valerie Guenther, with their children Jack Guenther Jr. (St. Luke’s parent) and Abigail Guenther Kampmann, were inspired to donate to date $1M to the Permanent Endowment Fund (the “PEF”), to establish a fund whose proceeds will be used to underwrite the Head of School’s compensation from year to year. The fund known as the Jack and Valerie Guenther Foundation Endowment Fund is set up to grow in perpetuity. Its impact is significant each year. Leadership plays a pivotal role in supporting the mission and values of our school. The Guenther family’s investment, vision and generosity will allow St. Luke’s Episcopal School to attract and retain leaders of the highest caliber for generations to come.
The Guenther family’s generous spirit and attention to detail in setting up protections will preserve the Fund and insure that it will continue to grow well into the future. We hope their gifts to the PEF will be an inspiration to others!
"Our relationship to the School goes back some fifty years, when I was on the School Board, the education of our three children, and now a grandchild. We trust that this gift will contribute to continuing the School's mission of fostering compassionate and knowledgeable students. We wish you continuing success, and it is our privilege to be a small part of the school."
- Jack Guenther Sr.
Join St. Luke's In Celebrating & Honoring MLK
We invite our St. Luke’s community to come together for two meaningful opportunities to honor and remember the life and legacy of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
On Monday, January 19, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and School will join the MLK Day March, standing together in reflection, unity, and service as we honor Dr. King’s call to justice and love. The march begins at 10:00 a.m., and families are welcome to participate. A limited number of seats remain on the school buses for those who wish to travel together. Those who will meet us there, must be in place by 9 a.m.
We will also gather as a school community for our All-School MLK Chapel on Tuesday, January 20, at 8:00 a.m. This special chapel will be led by Middle School Student Voice, along with our 1st grade and PK4 classes, as we reflect on Dr. King’s enduring impact and message of hope.
