📣 Families! Here's What's Happening This Week:

Parent–Teacher Conferences Next Week
Parent–Teacher Conferences are right around the corner, and we look forward to connecting with families to discuss student progress, celebrate successes, and partner together for continued growth.
Conference Schedule:
Wednesday, October 8 – In-Person Conferences
4:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the Cafeteria and Gym (first come, first served)Thursday, October 9 – Virtual Conferences by Appointment (Appointments Close 10/7 at 11:30pm) 1:30-7:30 - Families can book appointments through the Carter Middle School Conference Manager.
We strongly encourage families to attend either night. Conferences are one of the most valuable opportunities we have to communicate face-to-face (or screen-to-screen) about your child’s academic progress, classroom performance, and overall well-being. These conversations allow teachers and parents to share insights, ask questions, and work together to support every student’s success.
Middle school is a critical time for students to build habits, confidence, and responsibility, and your involvement makes a difference. Whether your child is excelling, finding their stride, or needing extra support, conferences help keep everyone on the same page.
We look forward to seeing you next week!!!
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda
The students on Carter's Earned Privilege List received their "Cougar Cards" on Monday. Students must be on time to class, pass the majority of their classes and avoid suspensions to earn their Cougar Card. If your child did not receive their Cougar Card this week, they will have another chance at the end of October.
October's parent tip of the month is: Check your child's grades and attendance at least once per week. Address any areas of concern with your child and their teacher(s) if necessary.
A Huge Thank You to Our Custodians on National Custodial Day!
Today, we celebrate and honor our amazing custodial team at Carter Middle School! Our school simply could not run without their hard work and dedication. From cleaning up unexpected messes to fixing lights and blown fuses, to handling spills and everything in between—they are always there to keep our building safe, clean, and running smoothly.
We truly appreciate all that you do to support our students, staff, and school community every single day. Thank you for your commitment and care—you are an essential part of Carter Middle School!
