RSU 57 Community Newsletter
November 5, 2025
Message from the Superintendent
Dear RSU 57 Community,
As we move into November, our schools and communities prepare to honor Veterans Day—a time set aside to recognize the remarkable individuals who have served our nation with courage, honor, and an unwavering commitment to the ideals of freedom and democracy.
In RSU 57, we are privileged to be part of a community rich with veterans and military families. These men and women, many of whom are our neighbors, colleagues, parents, grandparents, and alumni, have answered a call to serve and have done so with distinction. Their dedication has shaped our country and strengthened the fabric of our local community.
Throughout the coming week, our schools will host events and learning opportunities that help our students understand the importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices made by those who have served. From classroom discussions and student reflections to school and community ceremonies, these moments provide powerful reminders of the values we hold dear—service, gratitude, and unity.
We extend our deepest appreciation to all veterans for their bravery and for the example they set for our students. Your service inspires our young people to lead with integrity, show respect for others, and recognize the profound impact of civic responsibility.
To our veterans and military families within RSU 57: thank you. We honor your contributions, and we are grateful for all that you have done—and continue to do—to support our schools and our community.
We look forward to coming together in recognition and gratitude as we observe Veterans Day.
Warm regards,
Stephen D. Marquis
MHS Class of 2025 Graduate Joins the Ranks of the U.S. Navy
Congratulations to Ethan Morin, MHS Class of 2025, who officially became a U.S. Navy Sailor after graduating from boot camp on October 23rd at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois.
During training, Ethan was selected from 101 recruits to serve as the Athletic Petty Officer (APO) for his division, a role recognizing both leadership and physical excellence. Ethan had the fastest 1.5-mile run in both his division and the brother division. Ethan’s dedication and discipline continued throughout boot camp, where he maintained his leadership position and set an example for others.
His outstanding performance, success on physical and knowledge assessments, and leadership contributions led to his advancement in rank to E2.
To say we are proud of Ethan is an understatement! His commitment, hard work, and achievement are an inspiration to the entire MHS community.
Congratulations, Sailor Morin!
