Week 33: Outdoor Explorer Safety List (Best for planting, hiking, or nature walks)
🌱 Earth Day Safety for Little Explorers! 🌱 We hope our students get outside to enjoy nature this Earth Day! Whether you are planting a garden or going on a nature walk, remember to stay safe:
Sun & Bug Patrol: Even in the spring, the sun can be strong! Wear your sunscreen, a hat, and bug spray to keep the mosquitoes and ticks away.
Leaves of Three, Let it Be: When exploring the woods or trails, keep an eye out for Poison Ivy. If you don't know what a plant is, it's best not to touch it!
Hydration Station: Helping the Earth is hard work! Bring a reusable water bottle and take plenty of drink breaks.

Eco Innovators Summer STEAM Academy!
Walker Elementary is excited to host the Eco Innovators Summer STEAM Academy! This free program, funded by DESE Academic Enrichment for Gifted/Talented, with the support of Springdale Public Schools, is open to any rising 1st–5th grader in Arkansas who is curious, creative, and eager to learn through hands-on STEM experiences.
The academy runs June 1–5 and June 8–12 from 9:00 AM–3:15 PM, and students must be able to attend all days. Space is limited, and students will be selected based on interest, curiosity, and leadership potential.
