Dear families,

It was wonderful seeing so many bright faces this week! We are off to a fantastic start to the school year, and I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone for helping create such a warm, welcoming environment for our students.

To help keep our school community running smoothly, please keep an eye out for a separate email from me soon regarding our procedures for attendance, technology, and personal devices.

Most importantly, keeping our kids safe is our top priority. As we settle into our daily routines, please take a moment to review these essential drop-off and pick-up reminders:

• Use Crosswalks: If you are parking and walking your student to their drop-off area, please always use the designated crosswalks from the parking lot.

• Pull All the Way Up: In the Hug-and-Go lane, please pull all the way down to the north end of the building to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.

• Stay Alert & Drive Slow: Keep your speed low, and please stay off cell phones completely while in the school zone.

• Walk Bikes & Scooters: For the safety of pedestrians on the sidewalks, all bikes and scooters must be walked once on school grounds in front of the building.

Join us Thursday August 27th from 5:00 - 6:00. This evening is for families with students in grades 1 - 5 (kindergarten had theirs before school started). This is an opportunity for you to learn about what your child's school year and daily schedule will look like. There will be two sessions. The first will start at 5:00pm and the second will start at 5:30pm. Supervision will be provided on the back playground for kids not attending the sessions.

The document below is full of information on what you have access to in your "Parent Portal". If you don't already regularly utilize this, you may want to start. This tool becomes even more important in your partnership with schools as your student move into secondary schools.

**Free and reduced lunch applications are now open for the 2026/2027 school year. Although breakfast and lunch are free for all students. We highly encourage all qualifying families to still fill out an application.**
