December 2024
With tight curriculums, it isn't easy to prep students for an author visit. Thank you, Mr. Bazley, Mr. Clarke, Ms. Doria, and Mr. Tanritanir, for bringing your students to the library to participate in an author's visit. The author read from her book and told students about her upcoming publication, and then gave them the opportunity to ask questions. The questions were insightful and inquisitive. Our students made a wonderful impression.
The event was sponsored by the Center for Fiction.

The Library's Maker Space
There has been growing interest in the library’s makerspace. The activities have been laid out so students can see what offerings are available, and students have been taking advantage. Some have been watching tutorials and learning to crochet, and others have been using the rubber band loom kit that we purchased.
Students have also been coming to learn how to use the library’s cricut machine. They have transformed their original artwork into stickers. Created keychains to reflect their hobbies and interests.
As we continue to grow, we hope students will take advantage of what we have to offer and also grow what we have available.
Teachers who are interested in collaborating with me should reach out, and we can discuss how we can incorporate the makerspace into your classes.
