Granite Valley Introductions
We see so many faces throughout the year and although many stay the same, some of us are new and some of you are too. Each week I will try to introduce you to members of the staff here at Granite Valley since we are a team and each and every member is here to support your student's success!
Meet Mike - Day Custodian
Mike has been taking care of Granite Valley for many years. He loves spending time with his family, which includes 6 dogs! He loves being at the ocean and seeing the people at Granite Valley who bring him much happiness.

International Dot Day
Granite Valley is excited to celebrate National Dot Day, a day dedicated to creativity, courage, and making your mark! Each student will listen to The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, the story of Vashti, a student who believes she cannot draw until her teacher encourages her to simply make a mark and see where it takes her. This small act begins a journey of confidence, creativity, and discovering what is possible when we are willing to try. Throughout the day, students will participate in classroom activities inspired by the story and its important message:
You donโt have to be perfectโyou just have to be willing to try and make your mark!
To add to the fun, we are inviting students to wear brightly colored shirts or polka dots to school as we bring the Dot Day theme to life throughout Granite Valley!
As a special part of our celebration, our entire school will come together to make our own Granite Valley mark by creating a giant GV Dot! Corey Pitcher, Monson High School Video Production Teacher, will photograph our school-wide creation from above, capturing a memorable moment of our students and staff coming together as one Granite Valley community. Depending on the success and quality of the photograph, we hope there may also be an opportunity for families to purchase a copy.
We canโt wait to celebrate creativity, confidence, and communityโand to see the mark we can make when all of Granite Valley comes together!
PE - Sneaker Success
๐โโ๏ธ๐ Way to go, Granite Valley! ๐๐โโ๏ธ
We are excited to share that 313 out of 316 students came prepared with their sneakers for PE! That is an incredible 99% of our students ready to participate safely and fully.
Thank you, families, for helping our students come prepared and ready to ROCK each day! ๐
