Piney Woods Elementary started this year with the theme “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”

Resilience and Determination are the two words that come to mind when I think about this year. Our kids, our staff, and our community have pushed through one of the most difficult times we have ever faced. I can’t count the number of times that we have asked our staff to pivot. The beautiful part of all of that is that we have come out stronger and much wiser. I appreciate the amount of support our community has given us. I appreciate our teachers for doing whatever it takes to ensure we continue teaching and building relationships. I appreciate our parents for trusting us with your child but most of all, I appreciate our kids for adapting to whatever obstacles came our way. We are at the end of the run for the 2020-2021 school year and we have done it together. Thank you to all involved for ensuring the success of every child that passes through the doors of Piney Woods Elementary. I hope your summer is filled with fun, family and togetherness!

Their last year at PWE was an exciting one! 6th graders worked to get ready for their switch to junior high, learning class rotation schedules and getting to choose their elective. Have fun in your next chapter at SJH!

5th graders this year worked hard and got some good use out of our outdoor classroom. They made the best of a masked year, presenting poems, practicing figurative language and so much more! See you in 6th grade students!

Check out some exciting things 4th grade has done this year! They got a taste of having multiple teachers for academic subjects, participated in their 4th grade program and much more! What a great year it was.

3rd Grade finished out the year with their wax museum project. Students were assigned an important figure from history and had to gather facts about the person such as the date of birth, date of death, what they were famous for, challenges they encountered and more. They dressed as their person and used their presentation boards to teach our 2nd grade classes all about these important people of history! Great job 3rd grade!

What an exciting year it's been for 2nd grade! From hatching chicks and learning about life cycles to working with 3D printed shapes, our 2nd grade teachers have worked all year to give these students an exciting learning environment. Have a great summer 2nd grade, we'll see ya in 3rd!

First grade was an exciting year for our students! They got to camp out during read all day, race stick horses on Go Texan Day, dress up for book character day and so much more. What a fun year it's been, have a great summer 1st grade!

Our sweet kindergartners graduated! They are on to 1st grade and Piney Woods Elementary is so excited to see what they do next! Have a great summer kinder, we will see you in 1st grade!

These cuties are all ready for Kindergarten!
