EVERY CHILD. EVERY DAY. EVERY CHILD. EVERY DAY.

💙 This week we celebrate ALL of you! 💛 💙 This week we celebrate ALL of you! 💛

This week I am bursting with pride as we celebrate our entire Lincoln Family. I can't help but think about the accomplishments that have occurred this year because of the hard work of every staff member. I'm bursting with pride and so very humbled that I am the principal at this extraordinary school. I often wonder if I'm worthy of being chosen for this role. Each night I go to sleep thinking about the vision of Lincoln School, and each morning I wake up thinking about how we, as a team, will continue our work to fulfill that vision. All of the growth that has occurred, all of the love that has been given, and all of the events and activities that have been carried out this year would not have happened without all of you. You are the backbone that makes this a great place for students and families, and we are nestled right in the heart of St. Joe. Thank you for your heart for kids. Thank you for giving so much of yourself every day. Thank you for your passion and dedication. I recognize the difference you are making every day. If you have ever doubted yourself or wondered if you are in the right place, please watch the video below. I know you will see yourself.

Thank you, Lincoln Staff. I'm so proud to serve our Lincoln Families with all of you.

Thank you to ALL of you for choosing to love our students! Thank you to ALL of you for choosing to love our students!

In Honor of Staff Appreciation Week...

No hiding it this week! In honor of all of our staff, it will be jeans day all week. I know that is a very tiny gift to all of you, but I hope that it helps to take a decision off your plate each day this week. Thursday is an optional dress like the 80's day if you so choose.

You are appreciated!

Recess Duty Coverage

The PTO has worked hard to cover one assigned recess duty this week for each classroom teacher. This does not include before and after-school duties. Please see the sign-up genius below to know which duty will be covered.
Recess Relief

Recess Relief

One of the best gifts we can give our teachers right now is the gift of time since they need to pack up their classrooms at the end of this year. During Teacher Appreciation Week we are trying to cover a recess shift for every teacher to give them some extra time.

TRACK MEET--SCHEDULE CHANGES

Because of the track meet, there are many changes to the schedule on Friday. Please check out the schedule below to ensure that there are no conflicts for your grade level for the day. Check early! We do not want to be discovering conflicts on late in the week.

MATH & LIT CAMP--ACTION NEEDED BY MONDAY

Please communicate with the rose-highlighted families on our 2023 Math & Lit Camp Doc that you have identified their child as one who would benefit from our Math and Lit Camp summer school experience! Below is the language you can copy, edit, and paste into an email. Please personalize the email as you see fit! I will be sending out round one of the initial invites Tuesday morning! If anyone from your grade level declines the invite, I will invite someone else from the list (which is why we asked you to identify 10 students).

Dear PARENT NAME,

I hope this email finds you well. I'm reaching out because I wanted to let you know that I have recommended CHILD'S NAME for our summer school learning experience- Math and Lit Camp. You will receive an email from Mrs. Knuth early this week with further details, including dates, times, and the place. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions regarding CHILDS NAME's learning progress. Please be sure to reply to Mrs. Knuth to let her know if you accept the spot in our summer camp. I hope you will be able to consider this special opportunity!

NEW FACE AT LINCOLN!

Beginning Monday, you will see a new face around Lincoln. Please welcome Jennifer Boyer as our new building sub. She will report daily and will be here to support as needed. Jennifer is a newly retired music teacher from Kalamazoo Public Schools and is excited to help out where she is needed. Her experience will be valuable during these last five weeks of school. Please welcome her when you see her, and let me know if you would like to add time to our schedule to visit your classroom and help with any students. Remember, this is a valuable way to add reading practice to your students' day.

Jennifer has previous engagements on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week but will join us for the remainder of the year.

NEW ROLE AT LINCOLN

For the remainder of the school year, you will notice Sarah Brault around our school for much more than just the lunch period. That's because Sarah will be supporting one of our awesome students during the last 5 weeks instead of supporting all of our students during our lunch periods. We are thankful that she has accepted this position. Sarah will be very focused on one student so she is not able to assist with any other students during the day. Please give her a high 5 when you see her around during the day!

💙 Shout Outs and Gratitude! 💛 💙 Shout Outs and Gratitude! 💛

Steve and Shelly--Thank you for the love and care you are pouring into our building.

BEAR Team--Thank you for all of your help and support during M-Step! You guys are awesome!

Katie M--Thank you for all that you have given to create a yearbook for Lincoln School this year. It is an immense amount of time and one with little gratitude. Without it, we would not have a book of memories. This is a small shout-out, but we are screaming THANK YOU as loud as we can!
