Quail Call
October 21, 2025
Welcome to PPCS 2025-2026!
Book Study
We are hosting a book study on "Raising Mentally Strong Kids" How to Combine the Power of Neuroscience with Love and Logic to Grow Confident, Kind, Responsible and Resilient Children and Young Adults by Daniel Amen, and Charles Fay. Based on the survey that went out last week we are going to schedule our first meeting on Friday October 24th after school (2:20-3:20). Childcare and snacks provided! This was the time most people were available for the first meeting. Even if you aren't available to join us in person, we hope that you will still follow along in the book.
I have attached the two chapters (chapter 3 and chapter 5) we are going to focus on during this meeting. If you have the hard copy at home feel free to read chapters 1-5 even though we will be focusing on only chapters 3 and 5. Please RSVP here if you are available to attend. I look forward to learning alongside you. Chapter 3 Chapter 5
Wellness Committee Survey
We're planning fun, educational activities for our students and families — and we want your input!
The Wellness Committee is planning educational activities for our students and families throughout the year. To help guide our planning, we kindly ask you to take a few minutes to complete the following survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and appreciated, and we welcome any additional ideas you’d like to share.

No School October 30-31
There is no school October 30-31 for teacher work days and Kindergarten - 5th grade family check-ins. K-5 families, please look for an email from your student's teacher to schedule your check-in.
Reminders
Attendance/Dismissal
Please remember that all communication regarding student attendance and dismissal plan changes need to come to the front office. We ask that parents please email office@palouseprairieschool.org or call the office at (208) 882-3684 and we will relay information to teachers. In addition to the front office, if you would like to include your child's teacher when emailing, you are welcome to do so. Please refrain from texting teachers about attendance and dismissal issues.
For a quick and easy way to report absences and late arrivals you can use Safe Arrival in the School Messenger App. To opt in to School Messenger, text "Y" or "YES" to 67587, or scan the QR code.
Snacks
Please send your child to school with a snack daily. We can provide snacks to students with a genuine need, but our supplies are limited.
Lunch
PPCS gets lunch from Moscow School District. Students make a lunch choice every morning when attendance is taken. Orders are called in from the office to MSD daily at 9AM. If your student will be late and will need a school lunch, please contact the front office by email or phone, (208) 882-3684, before 9AM so we can include it with our daily order.
If your student will be off campus for fieldwork or celebration of learning, their classroom teacher will email families asking for sack lunch orders.
If your student needs a lunch for an Adventure Friday trip, you can sign them up through the link in the Adventure information document sent out by Adventure co-lead David Herbold.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
You can fill out our free and reduced lunch applications at any point in the year. If your income has changed, or if you aren't sure if you qualify, please fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch Application on our website. You can also contact the office for an application.
Art Camp
We still have a few openings for Art Camp on October 31, January 23 & 26, and June 3. The cost is $25/day and each subsequent sibling is $12/day. To sign up, contact the office to confirm availability of requested dates. Prior registration and payment is required. We are unable to take walk-ins due to staffing constraints.
