Letter from Mr. V Letter from Mr. V

Dear Jaguar Community,

Wow! We ended the week with two amazing events, and it really filled my cup to see so many of you in attendance and in volunteer roles. On Friday morning, the jag pack was in full force for our annual Mask Parade! A huge thank you to Ms. Magoon who not only works with students to design and build their masks, but she also worked hard to make sure the pivot to hold the parade indoors was fun for students and spectators alike. Well over 50 community members were there to see our students' unique designs making it a really sweet scene to be a part of.

A huge thanks is also due to Ann Hennard-Ruth and her awesome crew of parent volunteers who put on the Halloween Glow Dance Saturday evening. Spooky carvings and ghoulish grooves made for an evening of hauntingly good times! This display of love for the school and care for the community is really what makes JES the place to be. Reach out if you want to get in on the action and join the PTA or volunteer at the school.

Food is something that directly impacts the wellbeing of children and families. While VT has extended SNAP benefits, many will not see those funds for another week. If your family is hungry, please reach out to the school. We can connect you with local food resources, and we will do so in a discreet manner. Please, do not hesitate if you are in need.

Lastly, the topic of excused and unexcused absences has been in rotation lately. The district has a clear policy that is available on the district website, and it is summarized below. Regardless of the status of an absence, we know that students who attend school regularly achieve at higher levels and feel a greater sense of belonging to their peers, their class, and our school. Also know that if there are barriers that are keeping your student from attending school, reach out to us as we can help remove them.

Kind regards,

Dane VanNosdeln (Mr. V)

JES Principal
