This year we're making $800,000 available to participating schools to invest in classrooms, equipment and essential supplies. For every dollar spent at Food City* using your ValuCard, one point will be earned for your school. The more points earned, the larger share of the cash your school will receive. All you have to do is link your ValuCard to your school of choice and you'll automatically earn points every time you shop! School Safety Minute
As we begin this new school year, it’s vital that we keep in mind safety tips to keep you and your family safe. Here are a few reminders:
PLEASE REMEMBER:
You must have your ID to enter the building.
How to support school safety at home:
1- Encourage open communication with your child about experiences at school.
2-Reiterate the importance of following rules and being respectful to staff.
3-Monitor your child’s devices.
4- Reiterate the importance of never sharing personal information with others.
Thank you for your continuous support! As always we ask everyone to stay vigilant and communicate, SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING
Stay Safe,

Nurse Notes
Hello Warriors:
We have lots going on already at LMS and in the clinic!
Being back to school means we see an increase in illnesses. Please remember...
- if fever >100.4, student will need to stay home. He/she can return to school >24 hrs without taking fever-reducing meds.
- if vomiting, student will need to stay home until vomit-free > 24 hrs from the last episode.
There are several things you can do at home to treat your child's symptoms.
- sore throat- cough drops, hard candies, peppermints, crackers, warm/cold liquids
- runny or stuffy nose- you can try an over-the-counter antihistamine such as Xyzal, Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec, or Allegra. Decongestants (Sudafed) can also be tried. Another useful remedy is nasal saline.
- Hydration is super important, especially with an illness.
Follow basic hygiene recommendations for the prevention of illnesses:
- wash hands frequently
- sneeze/cough into your elbow
- avoid touching your face with unwashed hands
- don't share personal items
- stay up-to-date on vaccines
- stay home (when sick)
The best medicine is PREVENTION!
The dental van is coming to LMS on SEPTEMBER 15th and 16th. This is a great opportunity for students to receive basic dental care here at school. The form was included in your child's back-to-school paperwork packet. Please complete the form or register online if you want your child to be seen. The link is
https://www.myschooldentist.com/LMCCGA_schsrm
These forms must be returned to school BEFORE SEPTEMBER 5th.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me,
