Good Evening PHJH Patriots,
What an AMAZING last week of school we had here at PHJH. The day of the year I personally have been waiting for ALL year finally arrived. Chalk the Walk is without question my FAVORITE event that our school does all year long. I love every, single, thing about it. I love the lead up to getting ready to the event which involves listening to Mr. and Mrs. Gianfredi bounce around theme ideas, and engage in some friendly bickering before they settle on the final one. I love seeing the packets and pictures getting printed, and feeling the literal buzz int he school the second the pictures and packets get released because kids are so excited to participate.
This year, there were 60 spots available to be drawn which is considerably more than has ever been done before, and with three members to each team, we were managing approximately 180 kids who experienced all of the normal Chalk the Walk emotions... They went from excited, to confused, from confused to frustrated from frustrated to determined, from determined to exhausted from exhausted to hopeful, from hopeful to hangry, from hangry back to determined, from determined to excited, from excited to feeling EXTREMELY ACCOMPLISHED. They started clean and full of energy, and ended covered in chalk, slightly sunburned, and beaming with pride. To see the magic these kids could work in just a few short hours is nothing short of a miracle.
Thank you Patriots for making my favorite day of the year the BEST one ever, and thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Gianfredi for all of the hours and hours of hard work you put into making this day a success. I hope it is a tradition that continues for many years after I am gone!

Buenas noches Patriotas PHJH,
Qué increíble última semana de escuela que tuvimos aquí en PHJH. El día del año que yo personalmente he estado esperando TODO el año finalmente llegó. Chalk the Walk es sin duda mi evento FAVORITO que nuestra escuela hace todo el año. Me encanta cada cosa sobre él. Me encanta el período previo a la preparación para el evento que implica escuchar al Sr. y la Sra. Gianfredi intercambiar ideas sobre el tema, y participar en algunas discusiones amistosas antes de que se decidan por la final. Me encanta ver cómo se imprimen los paquetes y las fotos, y sentir el alboroto que se produce en el colegio en cuanto se publican las fotos y los paquetes, porque los niños están entusiasmados por participar.
Este año se sortearon 60 plazas, una cifra considerablemente superior a la de años anteriores, y con tres miembros en cada equipo, gestionamos aproximadamente 180 niños que experimentaron todas las emociones normales de la Marcha... Pasaron del entusiasmo a la confusión, de la confusión a la frustración, de la frustración a la determinación, de la determinación al agotamiento, del agotamiento a la esperanza, de la esperanza al hambre, del hambre a la determinación, de la determinación al entusiasmo, del entusiasmo a sentirse EXTREMADAMENTE REALIZADOS. Empezaron limpios y llenos de energía, y terminaron cubiertos de tiza, ligeramente quemados por el sol y radiantes de orgullo. Ver la magia que estos niños pueden hacer en tan solo unas horas es un milagro.
Gracias Patriots por hacer que mi día favorito del año sea el MEJOR de todos, y gracias al Sr. y a la Sra. Gianfredi por todas las horas y horas de duro trabajo que han dedicado para que este día sea un éxito. Espero que sea una tradición que continúe durante muchos años después de que me haya ido.
