We're having a ball!
Week of March 25, 2024
This week we dived into some of the questions that students had asked last week. Students wondered: What is inside a soccer ball? We cut inside and found out (turns out there is another small ball and lots of stitching). We also asked: Do all balls bounce? See our chart below to find out and ask your child if a meatball bounces? On Monday, students practiced their table tennis skills with our home made set: a balloon and cardboard paddles. Some of the books we read this week were: In the Tall Tall Grass, Curious George at the Baseball Game, and A Big Guy Took My Ball. In Fundations we studied how to write the letters I and J. In art, students were offered a variety of materials and simply told to "make a ball." They were very creative and used tape and pieces of fabric to make a ball. We celebrated Jamel's birthday and his brothers came in for a special read aloud. Finally, on Friday everyone went to the school wide assembly to celebrate the school norm of 'Be Safe.' Have a wonderful long weekend and see everyone on Monday. 🌷🐇
