I hope everyone is enjoying the start of summer and staying cool through the latest heatwave that impacted most of the country. Here at Temple our student-athletes are away on summer break while our coaches and staff are preparing for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year.

Congratulations to Temple alum and longtime radio voice of the Philadelphia Eagles Merrill Reese on being chosen to receive the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2024 Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award. Reese, who earned a bachelor's degree in communications and broadcasting from Temple, started his career as doing play-by-play on WRTI-FM, the college's radio station. He has been the lead voice on radio for Eagles broadcasts since 1977.

Congratulations to senior Brandon Van Vuuren for being named the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men’s Crew Performer of the Year. He was joined on the team by Kenneth Raynor, who was the 2023 Philly-SIDA Men’s Crew Performer of the Year and is on the team for the third straight year. Also named to Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area teams the past two weeks were Amarna Milne (women’s rowing), Belle Mastropietro and Katie Shallow (women’s lacrosse) and Samantha Nanere (women’s tennis).
