HMS Hiller Heads-Up
All the news from Hopkinton Middle School
Note from the Principal
I hope this Hiller Heads up finds you all doing well and staying healthy. The excitement in the building was definitely building as we headed into winter break, and we would like to wish you and your families the very best this Holiday season. Thank you, as always, for your collaboration and partnership in support of the students at HMS.
We have two events on the calendar for when we return from break that I wanted to share with you. The Student Council will host a social event for our 8th graders on Friday, January 19th. A DJ will provide music for dancing in the gym and students looking for a more quiet experience can relax in the cafeteria and enjoy a movie. Some students may decide to dress nicely for this event but it is not required, and students are encouraged to come by themselves or with a group. All are welcome and we want all to feel comfortable.
The HPTO will host a session for parents and guardians in the evening on January 17th. We will once again welcome Jon Mattleman back to HMS for a presentation titled: Changing Minds: Stories over Stigma. This presentation will also include a youth speaker who will meet with our students during school on January 26th. Working together we can use a common vocabulary when speaking with students about mental health. More details to follow from the HPTO.
Happy Holidays!
