Dr. Liz: Explaining Brains Blog
Dr. Liz Angoff has made helping children understand their brains a cornerstone of her practice. At this year's ICE Symposium, she will talk about this and other relevant topics, including a session regarding AI. Integrative and Collaborative Evaluation (ICE) Symposium 2024: LIVE!
VIRTUAL: Reveal Their Story with Dr. Marilyn Monteiro
Our SLP consultants at Region 10 have offered spots to their virtual training with Dr. Monteiro. It is a two part training. Part one is in February and part two is in April. While this training is marketed for SLPs, this would be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the MIGDAS-2.
The first session will highlight the use of the MIGDAS-2 visual framework and strength-based descriptive language to individualize the diagnosis of autism spectrum differences across age and ability levels in the school setting. Integrating the use of this qualitative set of protocols with autism-specific standardized communication measures will be discussed, along with outlining how the MIGDAS-2 strength-based process aligns with the IDEA special education eligibility guidelines for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
During the second session, participants will learn to write narrative communication summary reports using the MIGDAS-2 visual framework and descriptive language. Sample Brain Style Profiles and excerpted narrative report samples will be discussed across age and ability levels
