Somers Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

Happy Friday! We have one week left in what always feels like the longest month ever (October)! We are leaving behind a month that is the most consistent 5-day week run of the year but are entering the least consistent month that we have (there is not one uninterrupted week in the month of November). Please take note of the days off in the month of November. One particular date that I would like to draw attention to is Friday, November 6. This date is earmarked for parent-teacher conference day. We will share one mass-link that will allow parents to sign-up for any/all teachers that they would like to meet with. Please note that this date is a teacher workday, but not a student school day.

If you are in the market for some Somers Swag, the link below can be used to access a school store. The concept of a swag school store is simple -- parents, staff, or students use the link below to access our pre-created store in which items have been selected. Somes receives 15% of all sales. We tried to provide a mix of items between t-shirts, hoodies, pajama pants (great for pajama day spirit week days!), sweat pants, quarter zips, and few hat options (I already know that I will be purchasing the beanie!). The store will be open/live for three weeks and is currently live/open now...some items could make great holiday gifts! As always, thank you in advance for your support.

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) screens students in grades 2–8 for potential placement in Gifted and Talented Services or Talent Development Services in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Any parent or guardian may refer a student in grades 2–8 to be screened for Gifted and Talented or Talent Development services.

Attention students auditioning for drama club: Due to a scheduling conflict, audition dates have changed to after school Monday October 26 or Thursday October 29. There will be NO auditions held on Wednesday October 28. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing you after school at auditions next Monday or Thursday.
