Halfway There and Hitting Our Stride! Quarter 3

Believe it or not, Monday officially marked the halfway point of the school year! We have started a brand-new term (Quarter 3), and while it is hard to believe how fast time is flying, we are so proud of the progress our students have made.

Last week, we hit the ground running after Winter Break. Our students and staff spent time "sharpening the saw" by revisiting our school-wide routines and expectations. By practicing how to be safe, be helpful, and be a STAR in the hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms, our students have set a positive tone for the second half of the year.

Celebration Highlights

We have already seen some incredible learning and leadership in action:

  • 3rd Grade Biographies: Our 3rd graders showcased their hard work by presenting their completed biography projects in the library to our 1st-grade students. It was wonderful to see our older students acting as mentors and teachers!

  • Kindergarten Compliment Party: To celebrate meeting building-wide expectations, our Kindergarteners enjoyed a well-deserved "Compliment Party." Way to go, little leaders!

Progress Reports & Family Communication

Keep an eye out—Report Cards were sent home in student folders on Wednesday! This is a great time to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth.

We are also eagerly preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences. This is a vital opportunity to discuss your child’s learning journey and set goals for the next quarter.

  • Thursday, Jan. 29th: 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM

  • Friday, Jan. 30th: 7:30 AM – 11:15 AM

If you haven't scheduled your slot, please reach out to your child’s teacher via Rooms or email as soon as possible. Need help with Rooms? Click here for support and tutorials.

Community and Connection in Ms. Khangura’s Class

We are proud to spotlight Ms. Khangura and her students for their exceptional commitment to building a positive classroom culture. When faced with the challenge of unkind language, the class chose to lean into connection rather than just consequences. Ms. Khangura facilitated a powerful "Family Circle," providing a safe space for every student to share their voice, express how the situation affected them, and collaborate on a path forward. The resulting openness and honesty didn't just resolve the conflict—it deepened student understanding and transformed their learning environment into an even stronger, more supportive community. We applaud Ms. Khangura’s class for taking ownership of their culture and demonstrating what it truly means to lead with empathy!

🏆 Celebrating Excellence: Upcoming Awards

We are thrilled to announce two special recognition spotlights coming soon to celebrate our students’ hard work and character during Quarter 2!

Kindness Awards: At our school, being a "leader" means leading with the heart. We have been presenting Kindness Awards to students who have consistently gone above and beyond in being helpful, considerate, thoughtful, and kind to their peers and staff. These students truly embody the Respectful and Helpful pillars of our school culture.

Quarter 2 Attendance Awards: Consistency is the key to success! We will be honoring students who achieved Perfect Attendance for Quarter 2. Being in class every day and arriving on time ensures our students don't miss a moment of valuable learning.

  • Parents, we need your help! You are our best partners in helping students earn this recognition. By ensuring your child is here every day and on time, you are helping them build the responsible habits that lead to a lifetime of success.
