A Message From Mr. Hansel and Mrs.Crone
Cadet Community!
Community Reminder: SAT Day + Polar Plunge + Sectional Basketball
Cadet Community, this is a reminder that Wednesday is SAT Day at Cascade High School.
-
All juniors are required to report to school and will take the SAT during the school day.
-
All other students (freshmen, sophomores, and seniors) should not attend school and should participate in a college or career exploration activity off campus.
-
Juniors will be released once the SAT testing is complete, so they can attend their own college/career activity.
Juniors—please get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast, and put your best effort into the SAT. This is your chance to show the state what it means to be a Cascade Cadet!
We're also excited to support our seniors as they participate in the Polar Plunge on Friday, March 6—thank you for representing Cascade and supporting Special Olympics!
And don't forget: Friday, our Varsity Boys Basketball team will play in the Sectional at Speedway. Let's show up, be loud, and support the boys!
Show Up & Show Out,
Mr. Hansel and Mrs. Crone
Newsletter Shout-Out: Volunteer Spotlight — Mr. DuBois!
We love the laughter and personality that make our school a great place.
This week, someone borrowed the principal’s phone and took a few surprise selfies…
…and that someone was Mr. DuBois. 😄📸
So, in accordance with our totally-official, absolutely-real policy:
✅ If you take the principal’s phone and take selfies, you’ve volunteered to help with the next newsletter.
Thank you CHS PTO
The PTO sponsored our ALL A ice cream break, the students really enjoyed it!!
Some SADD students did SPF training which stands for strategic prevention framework and received a $1000 stipend for attending!
This morning our FFA and FCA members came together for breakfast, fellowship, and encouragement. We are incredibly thankful for our guest speaker, Doug Whicker, who shared a meaningful and inspiring message with our Middle and High School students. His words challenged our students to live with purpose, integrity, and faith, both in and out of the classroom. We’re grateful he took the time to invest in our students and start the day in such a positive way.
*We had 90 students in attendance today!!
Choir Recognition
The following students qualified for and participated in the State Vocal Solo & Ensemble Contest last weekend. To qualify for state, students must earn a Gold rating at the district contest while performing a Group I selection, the most difficult level:
Kylie Anter-Allee — Gold Rating at State
Autumn Chattin — Gold Rating at State
Hunter Manuel Long — Gold Rating with Distinction at State
Scheduled absence form
Please use this form for any prearranged absences.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On March 4th, all juniors will be taking the SAT on campus. To provide them with a quiet, focused, and less hectic testing environment, we are offering the rest of our students the flexibility to participate in college and career readiness (CCR) activities of their choice off-campus.
For students who are unable to arrange off-campus activities, we will have engaging CCR opportunities available at school. This approach not only supports our juniors during testing but also gives all students an authentic, real-world experience related to their future plans.
For Juniors:
After completing the SAT, juniors will be allowed to leave campus to participate in CCR activities or stay at school to engage in on-campus activities.
To help us plan accordingly, we are sending out a form for parents to complete, letting us know what option their student will be participating in.
Thank you for your support in making this a productive day for all our students.

Policies and Handbook
As we continue our journey towards a successful school year, we want to remind you of some important policies that help ensure a positive and focused learning environment for everyone. These expectations are in place not only for your success at Cascade but to prepare you for success beyond our doors.
-
Cell Phones: Please remember that cell phones are not allowed during class time. They should be turned off or silenced and kept in your locker or bag during instructional periods. We want to ensure your full attention is on your learning and the classroom environment.
-
Backpacks: For safety and organizational purposes, backpacks are not permitted in classrooms. Please store them in your locker at the beginning of each day.
Food Delivery: We do not allow food deliveries, including services like DoorDash, to be delivered to the school. Please make arrangements to bring food from home or purchase from the school cafeteria.
-
Vape Policy: Cascade High School maintains a strict no-vaping policy. Vaping is prohibited on school grounds and at school events. Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary actions.
-
Addiction Support: If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please remember that we partner with the Willow Center to offer confidential support and resources. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
-
Punctuality and Respect: It is expected that all students are on time for each class and show respect towards their peers, teachers, and all staff members. Respecting each other creates a positive learning environment for everyone.
At Cascade, our goal is to equip you with the skills and values necessary for success. We believe in your potential and expect you to meet these standards to help you grow into responsible and successful young adults.
