Meeting This Thursday (1/8) & Many Updates!
Dear Mary Hogan Families,
In December, we hosted our annual Cookie Swap for our incredible teachers and staff! It was a festive pause in a busy season, a time for them to slow down, savor something sweet, and be recognized for their hard work. Thank you to all of the amazing families for filling the tables with delicious treats.
Please read below for all of the exciting MESA events happening in the next couple of months.
January MESA Meeting - 1/8, 6pm, Mary Hogan Library
HERE is the agenda for tomorrow night's meeting in the library. There is a virtual option (link at the top of the agenda!) People can feel free to bring kids and we will have snacks. It's only scheduled to last an hour :)
Middlebury Parks and Rec 5/6th Grade Basketball Tournaments - Jan 31/Feb 1 and Feb 7th/8th
MESA will once again run the concessions booth at both the boys and girls 5/6th grade tournaments at the Middlebury Rec Center. This has become our second biggest fundraiser (after the RAT). All of the proceeds go back to Mary Hogan to fund field trips and educational experiences for our students. We also use the money to fund teacher appreciation events and to host other events like Field Day, the end of year Dance Party and Mini Golf.
We are looking for food donations and for volunteers to run the booth. Please see the two sign up geniuses below. New this year, we also have an Amazon wish list created for concession booth items that you can purchase online (Amazon Wish List).

UVM Hockey and Basketball Tickets
MESA has partnered with UVM Athletics again this year to sell tickets to select hockey and basketball games. A portion of the ticket sales goes to MESA.
Men's Hockey 1/10 7pm vs Northeastern

Read-A-Thon - Volunteers Needed
The Read-A-Thon kicks off in February! On Friday, January 16th at 3pm we will need help printing reading logs in the library. We are also looking for volunteers to help count minutes on Friday mornings and to help with several events during the month. If you are interested in learning more or are able to help volunteer, please contact Jess Chatfield at almondmacaroon13@gmail.com.
