Dear Trail Blazer Community Dear Trail Blazer Community

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend. As we move forward, I would like to highlight a couple important points where we need your help:

Punctuality: Starting Monday, we will begin tracking student tardiness and issuing consequences. Parents, you have been doing an amazing job dropping off students in the car pool lane and we encourage you to continue helping us get students in their seats well before the tardy bell.

Please encourage your student-drivers and walkers to give themselves enough time to arrive at school safely and on time.

Student Tradies

Consequences for tardies will include:

  • 1-3 tardies: Warning

  • 4 tardies: 1 Lunch Detention

  • 8 tardies: 2 hours TNL (Thursday Night Reflection)

  • 12+ tardies: 3 hours Saturday school

*Extreme tardiness could result in truancy implications & loss of academic credit.

Dress Code: We will be reinforcing our dress code standards on campus as outlined in the student handbook and reviewed by administrators last week. Your support in ensuring your student adheres to these guidelines is crucial.

Your partnership is vital to our students' success. Together, we're not just educating; we're shaping the future of our community. Please scroll through this week's newsletter for important reminders and activities that are happening on The Trail.

Meet the Teacher

We look forward to welcoming you to campus this evening, Monday 25th August from 5:30-7:30. We are very cognizant of the fact that it is very hot this time of year, but in order to give our teachers a chance to eat dinner the doors will be opened at 5:25 pm. We encourage you to wait in your cars until that time.

When: August 25, 2025

Where: Please enter the school through the front doors. Doors open at 5:25 and we will start promptly at 5:30

What will you do?: Follow your student’s schedule & learn about teachers’ expectations & course overview

What do you bring?: Your student’s daily schedule. You can come with your student or alone. Your student will email you a copy of their schedule on Friday or next Monday during homeroom. If they do not, you can find a copy of it in HAC. Schedules will NOT be provided.

What is this evening NOT?: Individual parent conferences or a time for you to ask questions about your specific student. If you need to schedule a parent conference, please email your student’s teacher.

Action Required: Routine Health Services Consent Form

Starting Sept. 1, 2025, state law (Senate Bill 12) requires parents to give annual consent before school staff can provide routine health services such as first aid, screenings, or short-term counseling. Without consent, only emergency, life-saving care may be given. If you have not done so already, please click here to ensure your student can receive care from the nurse, athletic trainers and counselors.

End of Year & Vacation Planning

As we begin this school year, I want to share an important update about attendance and grading expectations. Unlike in recent years, student grades and assessments will now be collected through the very last week of school. Every instructional day matters, and it is essential that students are present and engaged until the final day of the school year.

We know families often plan trips in advance, but please schedule travel after the last day of school. Missing these last instructional days can affect a student’s learning and may have a direct impact on their final grades.

Access the academic calendar and view our grading practices by clicking on the Campus Assessment and Grading link on our campus website. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure students finish the year strong.

We’re looking forward to a great year of learning together!

Trail Blazer Time

Trail Blazer Time begins this week. Parents, when at all possible, please avoid picking up your students during 12:15-12:45pm (advisory time), as this is the most fluid part of the day. During this time, it may be difficult to locate students as they will be attending tutorials.

Absences

All absences, excused and unexcused, count toward the state’s compulsory attendance law. When a student's attendance rate drops below 90%, the student may earn credit for the class or a final grade by completing a plan approved by the principal.

To report an absence, go to the LT Homepage and click on the Report an Absence button in the top right. Please remember to report your student's absence even if you sign them out at the front office.

Learn more about the attendance policy.

Congratulations to our Volleyball teams! Varsity Volleyball has already celebrated two season wins in our regular games, and while the scoreboard hasn’t always reflected it, our athletes have shown tremendous heart and grit in tournament play. This past weekend, they battled against tough 6A Division I teams, proving that—even as underdogs—they are committed to growth and to earning every win.

The volleyball program is hungry and prepared to shake up the district as they re-establish themselves as firm competition.
