Community Survey for All

Be on the lookout! A community-wide survey has been mailed to all households within our school district boundaries. Each survey includes a unique code and a link to complete it online at your convenience.

Why Your Feedback Matters

Even if you don’t currently have children in District 41 schools (about 80% of our households don’t), your voice is essential. This survey is focused on the key pillars of our Strategic Plan and will help guide the future of education in our community.

One Survey for All

Everyone will take the same survey. If you’re a parent or staff member, the survey will branch to include questions about your specific school experience. Community members will receive all the information they need mailed to their home addresses. Staff members have received an email directly to their district email accounts.

Key Details:

  • Available online in English, Spanish, and Urdu

  • Created in partnership with School Perceptions, an independent education research firm

  • Confidential – your responses will not be linked to you personally

We appreciate your time and thoughtful input—thank you for helping shape the future of District 41!

Hadley Jazz Lab Students Participate in PTA Sponsored Clinics

The Hadley Jr. High Jazz Lab students worked with musician and local music teacher Mr. Bryan Itzkowitz during several clinics sponsored by the Hadley PTA to prepare for the upcoming Spring Jazz Concert. The clinics were open to 7th and 8th graders who play a band instrument, as well as piano, bass, guitar, drum set, vibes, and auxiliary percussion. Students made remarkable progress in jazz style, articulation, and rhythm section cohesiveness. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication in preparation for the Spring Jazz Concert on Thursday, May 1 at 7 pm in the Hadley Jr. High Auditorium. A huge thank you to the Hadley PTA for making these clinics possible!

Illinois Music Education Association ILMEA District 9 Jazz Festival

Congratulations to Hadley Jr. High School Band musicians who were selected to participate in the prestigious Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 9 Jazz Festival: 8th Grader Scott Simon (trumpet, Jazz 1) and 7th Graders Noah Brown (trombone, Jazz 2), Cooper Kroening (alto sax, Jazz 3), and Zachary Swenson (trumpet, Jazz 3). The festival was held on Saturday, April 12, at Hampshire Middle School. The students were selected following a rigorous audition process and participated in a day of rehearsals with guest clinicians and concluded with a concert.

ILMEA District 9 is made up of many school districts from our surrounding area including DuPage, Kendall, Kane and parts of Cook and Will counties.

Congratulations to the students on their accomplishment!

Sinfonietta String Quartet Performs at Hadley

The professional string quartet of the Chicago Sinfonietta performed at Hadley Jr. High on Thursday, April 10, for students in orchestra, band, choir, and world language. Ms. Emily Nash ~ Violin, Ms. Carmen Llop-Kassinger ~ Violin, Ms. Becky Coffman ~ Viola, and Ms. Ann Griffin ~ Cello performed a variety of music including classical, contemporary, pop, and even an Argentinian Tango called, “Por Una Cabeza.” A cross-curricular historical lesson of the tango was given by Spanish teacher Ms. Amarisa Gombis and the World Language Department.

“The string quartet provided a wonderful, engaging performance that included a discussion of history, a variety of performance styles, rhythmic examples, questions & answers, and also a Name That Tune,” stated orchestra director, Ms. Georgia Alemis. "Thank you to the talented musicians, the Hadley administration, and to the DuPage Foundation for sponsoring such an inspiring experience for our Hadley students."

Chicago Sinfonietta Musicians Inspire Hadley Music Students

During the winter months, many Chicago Sinfonietta musicians came in to assist the Hadley orchestra and band students with small group instruction. The professional musicians of the Chicago Sinfonietta included, Ms. Carol Dylan, violin, Ms. Ann Griffin, cello, Mr. Alan Steiner, bass, Mr. Charlie Schuchat, tuba, Mr. John McAllister, trombone, Mr. Elizandro Garcia, Clarinet, Mr. Bobby Everson, timpani, and Mr. Edgar Campos, trumpet. In addition, Conductor Maestro Ahmed Alabaca and principal percussionist Mr. Jeff Handley came in and gave a conducting clinic for the band, orchestra and choir classes. They explained what the conductor does in the orchestra by learning how to read a score, conduct beat patterns, and even instructed the students how to conduct a virtual performance of the Chicago Sinfonietta. Students were very excited to participate in this engaging activity. A special thank you goes to the DuPage Foundation for sponsoring the Chicago Sinfonietta to help inspire and encourage our Hadley orchestra, band & choir students with these special and enriching experiences.
