Overlook's Bi-Weekly Update - September 4, 2026
🦅 From the Principal’s Perch - Welcome Back
And just like that… our first week is in the books!
What a great start to the school year! Our first week at Overlook went smoothly, and it has been wonderful to see students and staff settling into the rhythm of a new school year.
Expectations have been set, routines are beginning to take shape, and our classrooms are already buzzing with learning. While there is always a little adjusting that comes with the start of a new year, I am so proud of how our students and staff have embraced the first week. We are off to a strong start!
Thank you, families, for returning all the important paperwork our nurse and teachers need so quickly — it really helps us start the year strong.
This summer, we were also fortunate to welcome some fabulous new members to our Overlook team, and I couldn't be more excited about the talent, energy, and experience they bring to our school community. Please join Mike and me in welcoming:
- Jennifer Allain – 8th Grade Special Education Teacher
- Amanda Currie – 8th Grade Orange ELA
- Quin Shattuck – 7th Grade Navy Science
- Sarah LeBlanc – 6th Grade Special Education Teacher
- Ben Ewing – Health Teacher
- Mackenzie Whitney – Long-Term Substitute, 6th Grade Blue Science
We are also thrilled to welcome our fantastic new paraeducators:
- D'Ann Bartlett
- Alex Bye
- Sam Kender
- Becky Trippier
We are so lucky to have this wonderful group joining our team. They have already jumped right in, and we are excited to see the impact they will have on our students and our school community.
As we head into Week Two, we will continue to focus on building relationships, establishing routines, and creating a school environment where every student feels known, supported, and ready to learn.
It's going to be a great year, Eagles!

🩺 From the Health Office
The Health Office is down to one pair of girls’ shorts for students who may need a change of clothing during the school day. If you’re cleaning out closets this fall, please consider donating a few gently used jeans, shorts, or sweatpants.

🦅 FLY HIGH TIP
You don’t have to have it all figured out on the first day—or even the first week.
Take it one day at a time, try something new, learn from your mistakes, and give yourself room to grow.
Be present. Be kind. Keep growing. Soar! 🦅
