Westchester Middle School Newsletter

FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2025
Message from Mrs. Seiss
Dear Westchester Middle School Families,
We’ve had a fantastic start to the third quarter here at Westchester Middle School! Thank you to our incredible community, parents, and students for coming out to support our 8th-grade boys' basketball teams on Thursday night at our first-ever "Pack the House" event at WMS. Your energy and enthusiasm made it a memorable evening, and we look forward to many more events like this in the future!
Today, we are proud to share that Westchester Middle School received the Heart Safe School designation from Project ADAM. Project ADAM (Automated Defibrillators in Adam’s Memory) is a nationally recognized initiative aimed at preventing sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in schools. This program honors Adam Lemel, a high school student who tragically lost his life to SCA. Through Project ADAM, our staff has received vital training, and we are equipped to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies, ensuring a safer environment for all.
Looking ahead, please mark your calendars:
- First semester/second quarter report cards will be available on Tuesday, January 14, at 3:00 p.m. in Skyward. Please take a moment to review your student’s progress and celebrate their hard work.
- Next week, students can look forward to a treat—Kona Ice will be available for sale during lunch on Friday, January 17.
Finally, a friendly reminder: Please encourage your student to bring a fully charged iPad to school every day to support their learning experience. Thank you for your continued partnership in making Westchester Middle School a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Lauren Seiss, WMS Principal
